Lori Harvey's New Skincare Line, SKN, Is Just As Dope As She Is

Meek Mill, we too, have Lori Harvey on our wish list -- our beauty wish list that is. Lori Harvey's undeniable ultralight beam is one that comes from within even though she knows all the tips and tricks. Because of her infatuation with skincare, which started from birth basically, the It girl created SKN by LH, which launched on October 22.

"I remember having like 20 different products I was using at one time and I felt like there had to be a simpler solution so I started doing my research and I met with some amazing chemist that helped me create these formulas and SKN by LH was born," she told ELLE.

The beauty entrepreneur watched her mom, Marjorie Harvey, move her way through her skincare routine in the mirror with ease as a youngin and always wanted to recreate that glow. Since the pandemic, Lori told PopSugar she has been intentional bout embracing her natural beauty by taking care of her skin and making sure it's healthy.

Like many of us, Lori has had an interesting skin journey. Struggling with rosacea, a common skin condition that causes blushing or flushing and visible blood vessels in your face, it taught her a lot about the dos and don'ts in skincare. As a model, her skin has gone through it with all the makeup products and tools used for shoots and runway shows. All of this led her to create a line for both herself and people who struggle with the same issues as her.

In an interview with Vogue, Lori says, "The three main ingredients that I have in the majority of my products are Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide because they have amazing benefits."

The unisex line is suitable for all skin types and is especially for those with sensitive skin. Even her bae, Michael B. Jordan, served as a tester for the vegan and cruelty-free products, which just proves they are a match made in heaven.

During the official beauty launch, Lori experienced a surreal moment being surrounded by her friends and family celebrating something she's been working on for years. What makes SKN different from other brands? It doesn't have any sulfates, parabens, petroleums, synthetic dyes, fragrances, or coloring. It's also a one-stop-shop for your skincare needs as you can use the system day or night.

In ELLE's series, "Waking Up With," Lori reveals how she maintains her angelic glow using the SKN regimen. Before starting her everyday skincare routine, she downs a celery juice and chases it with a Vitamin C shot.

Because she hates dry skin, her cleanser is her favorite as it gets the job done internally and externally. "I like to apply my cleanser in like a circular motion. Just really help get the product in my pores and get out any impurities. If you're wearing makeup, it cleanses the makeup off and any excess oils that you may have. So now, I'm going to rinse off with cold water. It shrinks your pores and just tightens everything up. And it's great to wake you up in the morning as well if you're still a little sleepy. So I always like to rinse with water."

Lori's 5 Step System was designed to help you manifest skin you'll love. The Goji Berry Cleanser washes away impurities, makeup, and excess oils leaving you with an immaculate mug. Then, there's the specialized hydrating toner which removes impurities and takes the cleansing process to the next level. We know serums are key to a skincare routine and SKN's is powered by Vitamin C, niacinamide, and botanical extracts, making them the perfect skin-brightening formula to support your healthy-looking skin.

Lori's mom always told her that prevention is better than correction and that's why the luxurious Peptide Complex Eye Cream is top tier. It combats the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Last but not least, the luxe moisturizer will keep the melanin more radiant than ever as it hydrates the skin while promoting firmness.

For the optimal beam, Lori recommends using the products in the following order:

  • Goji Berry Cleanser
  • White Tea Toner
  • Vitamin C Serum
  • Peptide Eye Complex
  • Niacinamide Cream

While this is Lori's first business and solo project, this is just the first stop on the LH empire world domination tour. Word on the street is that face masks, sheet masks, exfoliants, lip masks, scrubs, body lotions, and body washes soon come!

SKN by LH is currently sold out but will be restocked in November. Stay tuned for the restock date by following them on Instagram @sknbylh.
