Feeling Lonely? Tracee Ellis Ross Has This Advice For Single Women

Outside has been canceled until further notice and we are still stuck in the house—in the house stuck. Although many states have eased up on stay-at-home restrictions, it's safe to say that all d*ck appointments are on hold and we hate to see it.

Living this single, quarantined life isn't for the faint of heart but our good sis Tracee Ellis Ross has some advice that will remind you that good love is worth the wait. In a recent chat with Oprah, the High Note actress explained that while right now may not be an ideal time to date, it may be the perfect time to make an emotional connection of your dreams. She told Auntie O:

"I'm single and so I feel like it's about being purposeful in how I create my connection and particularly during this time, it's making sure that I am honoring the needs that I have and the connection that I have in different ways."

Tracee shared that because the pandemic has been taxing on the relationships in her life, she has had the opportunity to organically eliminate connections that no longer serve her:

"There's a very specific kind of person you want to connect with right now. Certain relationships have not kind of held up in this time and I've been very purposeful about what feels good."

"Guys need attention. They need that nourishment, that little stroke of the ego that gets them by every now and then. I'll give it to my family, I'll give it to my work – but I will not give it to a man right now."

Halle Berry

"I no longer feel the need for a relationship so I don't feel the need to rush or accept something that's not totally right for me. Not that anything's wrong with the people I've been with but I'm going to wait for my match or I will stay solo and be with my kids and do my life the way I'm doing it."

"I just have to say, the reason why I am so good and so happy is because I know how God works. I have seen God's MO so many times, that like in the way that you can be like, 'Aw man, but I thought this was it! I thought this was the one!' God be like, 'Oh that's what you thought? I got the goods for you.'"

Could The 'O Method' Be Just What You Need To Have The Sex You Want?

An author by the name of Alexandra Katehakis once said this about orgasms: “Great spiritual teachers throughout the ages have stated that orgasm is the closest some people come to a spiritual experience because of the momentary loss of self. Why is this true? Because with spiritual sex, you move beyond orgasm into a connection with yourself, your partner, and the divine — recognizing them all as one.”

If it’s counterintuitive to what you’ve ever thought about orgasms, believe it or not, there are even pastors who have said that climaxing is the closest comprehension of heaven on this side of it: it is an extreme kind of bliss that is indescribable and is best experienced between two people who share a sacrificial kind of love for one another.
