Cardi B has been keeping fans engrossed in her hair journey and her latest secret to her long locks had everyone talking. In a recent Instagram post, the “Hot Sh-t” rapper shared an updated photo and video of her hair which sweeps the top of her butt. While folks were impressed by her hair growth, it was the method she said she used to grow her hair that made it even more fascinating.

In the caption, she wrote “My last 2 washes I been boiling onions and using the water to wash my hair,” she wrote. “I used to do this 6 years ago when I started my healthy hair growth journey.I stopped cause I got really lazy. Its odorless and I notice that it’s been giving a shine to my hair.”

According to Healthline, using onion juice for the hair is a decades-long hair remedy. It’s often used for hair loss because it’s high in dietary sulfur and when used on the hair and scalp, it stimulates hair growth. Other benefits of using onion juice include dandruff, scalp infection, prematurely gray hair, dry, inflamed, itchy scalp, alopecia, and more.

Prior to her recent post, Cardi gave fans a peek into her hair length back in 2021. In a Nov. 13, 2021 tweet, the mother of two shared that she was using a hair mask to achieve her long hair. At that time, it was nowhere near tailbone length.

“So I’ve been so consistent with my hair mask routine and drinking alkaline water, and look how much my hair has grown!” She tweeted. “I was so scared of my hair falling out after my son’s birth because I’d been growing it for years now, so I made sure to keep up with it and I actually gain hair.”

She also shared the hair mask recipe which included honey, avocado, banana, eggs, mayonnaise, argan oil, and castor oil.
