Cree Summer is rediscovering sex after 50. The legendary actress opened up about her sex and dating life during a recent interview with Shan Boodram on her Lovers by Shan podcast. Cree, who is known for starring in A Different World and voice acting in Rugrats, revealed that growing up, she was more comfortable being friends with boys versus dating them.

"I was a very late bloomer and my first real boyfriend was Kadeem on A Different World, so I was 19 years old," she said. "I have always also taken my time. I've never been a one night stand kind of girl, not because I don't want to. It's just not how I'm built."

She also admitted that she often had trepidation when it came to dating due to her mom putting the "fear of God" in her about boys. But after turning 50, she started singing a different tune.

"Now in my 50s, I just don't care anymore. I'm feeling things I've never felt before and trying things I've never felt before," she explained. "There's a freedom now that I never had, not even in my 40s." The Abbott Elementary actress went on to share some things she discovered she liked in the bedroom.

"I didn't know I liked things so slow. I think I didn't know eye contact was the most important thing to me. I never knew I wanted to look at someone all the time or be seen so deeply. That really turns me on," she said. "And also, I like to be choked a little bit."

"When you're approaching intimacy with fear and everything has to be so slow and so measured, it doesn't open you up to try anything and that's the gift of getting older with my sexuality."

Cree isn't alone. Back in 2022, Sherri Shepherd also revealed that her sex life has gotten better after 50. “Sex after 50 is amazing. You know why? Because you take your time," Sherri said. "There's no Energizer bunnies going on after 50. After 50, you know what you want and you're not afraid to say it.”

They say you can’t heal in the same place that made you sick. And I couldn’t.

The year was 2019, and I knew I had to go. My spirit was calling me to be alone and to go alone. It was required in that season. A few months prior, I had quit my job. And it was late 2017 when I had met trauma.

Sergio Hudson On Designing With Intention And Who Gets Left Out Of The Industry

Sergio Hudson dreamt big as a young South Carolina boy staring out of the window of his mom’s Volvo driving down the Ridgeway, South Carolina streets. Those dreams led him to design opulent tailoring that’s been worn by Beyoncé, Queen Latifah, former Vice President Kamala Harris and Forever First Lady Michelle Obama, just to name a few.

Those dreams have come full circle in a new way as he recently collaborated with Volvo for a mini capsule collection suitable for chic and stylish moments this fall. The 40-year-old designer follows a long legacy of fashion aficionados who’ve used their innovation to push the automotive industry forward, including Virgil Abloh, Eddie Bauer, Paul Smith and Jeremy Scott.

What Loving Yourself Actually Looks Like

Whitney said it, right? She told us that if we simply learned to love ourselves, what would ultimately happen is, we would achieve the "Greatest Love of All." But y'all, the more time I spend on this planet, the more I come to see that one of the reasons why it's so hard to hit the mark, when it comes to all things love-related, is because you first have to define love in order to know how to do it…right and well.

Personally, I am a Bible follower, so The Love Chapter is certainly a great reference point. Let's go with the Message Version of it today:
