OK so, Morris Chestnut. Morris Lamonttttt Chestnut. The most perfectly created being walking the face of this earth. He's carefully crafted, and damnit, he should be scientifically studied for replication. Like, seriously. I need for he and his wife Pam, to get back in the lab and spawn, because the world needs more Chestnuts; we deserve it.

And all the while, while we were drooling over his movies (Under Seige, The Best Man franchise, Boyz n the Hood) the 52-year-old has maintained his image of a proud husband, uplifting the culture, and bringing healthy black love to the forefront for over 25 years (he and his wife married in 1995).

Chestnut once credited their longevity to respect and love, and using their understanding of who each of them are in the relationship as a guide.

"I let my wife be the woman. You know? I let her be the woman…And she, in turn, when it comes down to it, she lets me be the man."

Whew.

And since, the two have been holding down the family goals hashtag, with dad being the face of the brand, and mom protecting home.

Additionally, our favorite chiseled icon is the proud father of two children: son, Grant, and daughter, Paige, who are each in their 20's and emerging as the next generation of Chestnuts. Primarily Paige, who is a commercial, print, and runway model signed to Wunder Management. And sis has been taking on the industry her way, all while she rocks her dad's entire face.

Most recently, pre-pandemic, she made her runway debut in the Matt Sarafa fashion show during New York Fashion Week, with her dad posting on his Instagram:

"There's a saying, "A daughter may outgrow your lap, but will never outgrow your heart." That...is very true.
#prouddad #nyfw"

She added:

"I had a wonderful time working with his incredible team and models. this was my first time walking in Nyfw and I'm so glad I got to experience it with such a talented, fun, and down to earth group of people. check out Matt's new collection it's [fire emoji]!!"

Paige is splitting her time between school and the modeling world, and she surely has her parents support as she makes her way into the entertainment industry, following the steps of her famous dad. On her journey into modeling and adulthood, Chestnut let Wendy Williams in on what he and Pam have learned to embrace most:

"We realize as parents they're going to make mistakes and you just have to be there for them when they do. [But you know that with] certain values and beliefs in them, they're going to go out and do the right thing."

We are so excited to see Paige navigate her way through the industry and make a name for herself. *Cough* Rihanna, Fenty, give our girl a call! *Cough*

Exclusive: Viral It Girl Kayla Nicole Is Reclaiming The Mic—And The Narrative

It’s nice to have a podcast when you’re constantly trending online. One week after setting timelines ablaze on Halloween, Kayla Nicole released an episode of her Dear Media pop culture podcast, The Pre-Game, where she took listeners behind the scenes of her viral costume.

The 34-year-old had been torn between dressing up as Beyoncé or Toni Braxton, she says in the episode. She couldn’t decide which version of Bey she’d be, though. Two days before the holiday, she locked in her choice, filming a short recreation of Braxton’s “He Wasn’t Man Enough for Me” music video that has since garnered nearly 6.5M views on TikTok.

Before Tossing 'Em Back, The Pros & Cons Of Alcohol

There is a very specific reason why I decided to write this article before the holiday season officially gets underway. It’s because I once read a study that said it’s quite common for most Americans to double the amount of alcohol that they consume between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.

It makes sense when you stop to think about all of the holiday parties, time off, and moments spent with loved ones that transpire around this time of year. And while there is certainly nothing wrong with enjoying some mulled wine, real-deal eggnog, or peppermint martinis, because your health is something that never “takes a vacation,” I thought it was important to share with you some of the benefits (pros) and challenges (cons) that can arise from alcohol consumption.
