Tracee Ellis Ross is thee solo travel queen. The actress has given her followers a glimpse into her travel diaries on Instagram over the years and now she's giving a more in depth look with her new travel series, Solo Traveling with Tracee Ellis Ross. The series, which will be available July 25 on the Roku Channel, documents the black-ish star in all her fabulousness traveling through Morocco, Mexico, and Spain.
The promo clip shows her sharing travel hacks like the best way to take photos of yourself when no one's around, but it was another travel hack revelation that left everyone scratching their heads. While speaking at Travel + Leisure's annual World’s Best Summit on July 15 with editor-in-chief, Jacqui Gifford, Tracee dished on her vacation essentials.
“There’s always one bathing suit, a flip flop and one little dress I can roll up. And there’s always two undies," she said. When Jacqui followed up with the question, "two undies, that's it?" The Black Mirror actress further explained that she uses her bathroom sink and shower gel to hand wash her undies.
“If I’m gone for a month on this trip, you can’t pack a month's worth of underwear,” she said. “How do you do that? They take up a lot of space.”
After Tracee's comments went viral, she took to her Instagram Story to clarify. “This is hilarious,” she wrote. “I pack 2 pairs in my carry-on…in case my luggage doesn’t make it!!! That’s what I said. People hear what they want.”
In the trailer for her new show, she revealed that she took her first solo trip when she was 25 and haven't looked back since. "So much of what solo traveling is, is about not waiting for something in order to experience my life," she said. Tracee is one of the many Black women redefining womanhood and a beautiful example of how life can get better with age.
