I Tried It

I Tried The Wig Fix To Give My Edges A Break

I love all types of protective styles. Mostly because they are easier to manage than my own hair. They also do exactly what they are supposed to do: protect. I was once the queen of sew-ins because I felt like a celebrity anytime I could whip my bundles back and forth. When I learned about the practicality and low-manipulation of wigs, I stepped over to the dark side. My only qualm with full wigs is the way in which they have to be laid in some cases. From Got2B spray to MeltDown bond glue, using these types of adhesives blocks the pores in your scalp which then leads to damaging your hair follicles, according to Black Show Hair. The damage can also prevent your hair from growing along your hairline leading to thinning and possible hair loss.

After trying various adhesives, I found that my sensitive skin and edges weren't keen on this type of application. When I learned of The Wig Fix, a skin soft, breathable and lightweight silicone wig band that keeps your wig secured while promoting hair growth and scalp health underneath, I was shook. I love trying alternatives so I was game to see what the tea was and if it would work for me.

The Process

I was geeked to try The Wig Fix as I have been eager to wear wigs more to give my hair a break. Not using adhesives sounded heavenly because I have been on a mission to enhance my edges. Let's be clear: I have edges. I just want them to be thicker and healthier.

Since I'm hair illiterate, I booked a standard shampoo and braid down appointment with my stylist. I showed her The Wig Fix and she was quite intrigued to see how it would keep the wig secure. Once she applied a wig cap, she followed that with The Wig Fix. The fit was tight at first so I knew it wasn't going anywhere. Then, we put on the wig and laid the baby hairs downnnnnnnn.

The Review

It's the natural blend for meeeeeeeeeeee.

It's also the convenience for me because I removed the wig and The Wig Fix every night. To be honest, I only put it back on for Zoom meetings and when I wanted to be presentable. I was able to work out and oil my scalp unlike other times when my wig was so laid it would take an act of God for me to able to remove it.

I am so happy to have found such an amazing product that's kind to my edges and promotes hair growth. If you're interested in trying it for yourself, get yours for $34 here.
