7 Home Decor Choices That Promote Wellness

Spread wellness in your home before you even step in the door.

Home Improvement

Home is where the wellness is. At least, that's what it's supposed to feel like, right? No matter how much time we spend at home, we want it to be a place of serenity and peace; an oasis for us to just relax with our thoughts without a care in the world. Even with the pile of clothes on the couch, and the dishes in the sink that we wish Alexa could take care of for us, home can still be a place of zen, peace and balance.

It just takes a little more effort on our part. The fact that our homes will look more like we actually live in it compared to the way we wish it would look on our Pinterest board, is completely okay. That doesn't mean that we can't enjoy it, or that we can't…dare I say… relax in it. With these little odds and ends, you'll be able to spread wellness in your home before you even step in the door.

There is no way for me to hide the absolute joy unspeakable that I have about the fact that fall is just a few days away (September 22)! While there are a billion-and-one things that I adore about this time of the year, one of my favorites is preparing warm dishes, on purpose, to contrast the cooler weather that's headed our way.

It's been 573 days since my last New York Fashion Week. That's one year, six months, and 24 days. The last time I was in Manhattan, February 2020, was just as Big Rona was placing a chokehold on the world. I would have never guessed that while I was living my best life in the NYC streets, a pandemic would soon change my life completely. Because of the state of the world, there were no shows in September and by February 2021, the fashion houses were trying to figure out how to put on runway shows which led many brands to the digital space.

If you haven't heard by now, Yahya Abdul Mateen II is the 'it guy' in Hollywood. He currently stars in Nia DaCosta's adaptation of the cult thriller Candyman, and he hasn't slowed down since. I was always content with the shape of my body. I never really had major weight issues either. I inherited my small bone structure and my small frame from my mom. I guess you can say I have those good Caribbean genes. I have long arms, long legs, and a short torso. But I also carry my weight well. So, when I gain or lose weight, the distribution of weight is evenly proportioned. At 36, I'm fully grown. I stand 5'4", a DD+, and I don't know where all this ass came from. Now I have a butt I never used to have.
