Buss It, Buss It: These Are The Best Celeb #Bussit Challenges On The Internet

Just when we think it's over, another celeb drops their version, and we're talking about it alllllll over again.

Culture & Entertainment

Over the past two weeks or so, our timelines have been blessed, and filled to the brim, with a plethora of the 'Buss It' challenges. If you're unfamiliar, the latest trend is a nod to how magical black women are (in case there was ever a moment that you second-guessed it). The premise of the challenge is simple: set to the tune of Erica Banks' "Buss It", you open the video by showing off what you look like when not dolled up, and when the beat drops or changes, then so do you--all transitioned to a new fly AF queen, showing off your best Megan Thee Stallion knee game.

I mean, no lie, this one is everything, like I absolutely cannot get tired of seeing the creativity, the beauty, and so much more. And the best part is just when we think it's over, another celeb drops (pun intended) their version, and before long, we're talking about it alllllll over again.

Like when Chloe Bailey broke the World Wide Web:

Chloe Bailey stepped on the scene with her version to retire them all.

Bailey, is one half of the singing duo, Chloe x Halle, has had a very successful career over the last couple of years. They started by taking minor roles in films and now they are Grammy-nominated singers, songwriters, and actresses. The two entered the industry as kids and since, have worked to shed their child-like image, emerging as flourishing women. The two have been attached to the hip their entire careers, even having joint social media accounts the entire time. That was until Chloe Bailey got her own account and shut shit down.

And Miss Jackson represented for her man:

She loved it so much that she created two versions, each equally making bae--who had to clear the sample for the song to even exist--proud.

Jackie Aina came through with her Beyonce Fan and all:

Can I just say, black women in yellow is supreme?

And Jordyn Woods had us question why we would even try:

www.tiktok.com

To which her boo replied, "God is good."

Traci Steele's looked a lot like my attempt:

Samesies.

And Tracee Ellis Ross too:

We loved seeing Gabrielle Union show off the natural her:

And Reginae with the body suit:

*dusts off knees*

In the end, no matter how long this challenge sticks around, knowing that we drive pop culture in this way, is something I will never get over. #bussit

'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' Reminds Us That Angela Bassett Is Still Owed An Oscar

In a world much fairer than the one we currently occupy, Angela Bassett shelves would be adorned with multiple Oscars. While watching the latest installment of the Black Panther franchise, I was reminded of the sheer brilliance and excellence of the actress who has blessed audiences with her boundless talents for over three decades now. I wasn’t the only one captivated by Bassett’s performance, with some people even going as far as to suggest that Bassett might garner award recognition for the role.

The Best Healing Rituals For You Based On Your Zodiac Sign

Healing rituals are key to thriving in this human experience. If you are not regulating your emotions, taking the time to process, and giving your spirit time to renew and heal, then you are often carrying emotional heaviness from one experience to the next. black-family-dinner-table-grief-loss-during-holidays

The holidays are widely known as a time for celebration. It is a time when many people gather together to engage in community, cultivate connection and experience the joy of togetherness. Hallmark movies play on most TV screens and the dinner table is spread to serve people in abundance. A season that is often widely known for joy, can simultaneously be a season of grief for many. There are folks who will go through this holiday season with someone they love missing from the dinner table. A stocking that would usually be found hanging over the fireplace will be out of sight. No one talks about the heaviness of death and loss during the holidays.

5 Things You Should Consider Before Moving Abroad

Have you considered moving abroad? In 2021, I started life as a digital nomad. A "digital nomad" is a phrase that came to popularity due to the pandemic and it describes a person who lives a location-independent lifestyle. Since I started working and traveling simultaneously, I've traveled to Mexico, London, Dubai, and the Caribbean. According to a report by Upwork, 22% of the American workforce will be remote workers by 2025 — thus giving more people than ever the opportunity to live and work abroad.

rihanna-red-nails-red-nail-theory

Red nails have always intrigued me—namely because the red nails were always on the fingers of a well-put-together woman with perfectly laid hair, a perfume that lingered, and an heir of confidence orbiting them. Oh, and they usually drove a luxury car. I assume this is why we're all discussing the "red nail theory," a hot topic on TikTok thanks to GirlBossTown discovering that wearing red nail polish was responsible for an uptick in male attention. The #redtheory hashtag has 100 million views and counting. So, let's take a further look into this anecdotal theory.
