xoNecole has another event in the works and you're invited!

Words have the power to create and shape our lives. What we say is what we own, and in that sense, our lives are the direct manifestation of what we speak it to be. The problem with such power is that although we all own it, we often don't know what it means to harness it and hone it. We say things like, "I'm so broke" without realizing how those three words chase away money or "I'm so bad at love and relationships" and wonder why we keep getting played by the f-boys that wander into our lives. It isn't a wander or a wonder at all. You're manifesting your problems, you just don't realize it.

What many don't know is that vision boards are a powerful tool to help you realize and come into your power and create the life of your dreams. To help remind you of your power, xoNecole is teaming up with OMNoire to present Pretty, Powerful, You - A 2018 Vision Board & Manifestation Workshop!

Hosted by Necole Kane, EIC of xoNecole, Christina Rice, founder of OMNoire, and La Shell Wooten, Life Coach & Healthy Relationships Expert, Pretty, Powerful, You will be an empowering day centered on vision board creation and manifestation techniques with drinks and small bites to be served.

During this experience, you will:

  • Participate in a brief mediation led by Christina designed to plant the seeds of abundance
  • Learn how to manifest the life you want through a fireside chat with Necole and La Shell, followed by a brief Q&A
  • Explore ways to arrange your vison board so that it provides clarity, intention and direction for your year ahead
  • Discover the art of Feng Shui and applying it to your home
  • Own your vision through journaling and speaking abundance in your life through positive affirmations

2018 represents limitless abundance, so let's get clear about what we want to clear the way to receive all our blessings.

Create it.

Believe it.

Manifest it.

Pretty Powerful You will take place on Saturday, January 20 from 12 to 4 in New York City. RSVP for your spot in cultivating your dreams today. Click here for more info.

See you there!

Generation To Generation: Courtney Adeleye On Black Hair, Healing, And Choice

This article is in partnership with Target.

For many Black women, getting a relaxer was a rite of passage, an inheritance passed down from the generation before us, and perhaps even before her. It marked the transition from Black girlhood to adolescence. Tight coils, twisted plaits, and the clickety-clack of barrettes were traded for chemical perms and the familiar sting of scalp burns.

A 5-Year Healing Journey Taught Me How To Choose Myself

They say you can’t heal in the same place that made you sick. And I couldn’t.

The year was 2019, and I knew I had to go. My spirit was calling me to be alone and to go alone. It was required in that season. A few months prior, I had quit my job. And it was late 2017 when I had met trauma.

What Loving Yourself Actually Looks Like

Whitney said it, right? She told us that if we simply learned to love ourselves, what would ultimately happen is, we would achieve the "Greatest Love of All." But y'all, the more time I spend on this planet, the more I come to see that one of the reasons why it's so hard to hit the mark, when it comes to all things love-related, is because you first have to define love in order to know how to do it…right and well.

Personally, I am a Bible follower, so The Love Chapter is certainly a great reference point. Let's go with the Message Version of it today:
