You might be wondering what goes on in the mind of an Olympic gymnast star like Jordan Chiles, and lucky for us, she shared her keys to unshakable confidence.

The Team USA athlete opened up to PopSugar about how she manages stress and maintains good mental health as a top athlete.

In moments of stressful and challenging moments, she said that she finds relief through movements and dance. "When it comes to nerves or trying to focus too hard on something, I'll dance it out. I'll listen to music. I'll go talk to somebody. I'll walk away," she told the publication.

"I'll do whatever I need to do to make sure I'm not too focused on that certain thing. I'll pray about it a majority of the time, and just let God do its work."

When it comes to her mental health, Chiles shared, "The biggest thing with the mental health aspect is to make sure you talk to somebody, because that is definitely something that helped me. Whether it's a sports psychologist, sometimes having a listener, rather than a speaker, can help you. Finding that person, or finding that support system, that can help you and guide you in the right direction."

When she says she is “that girl,” it’s not just because of her gravity-defying routines and dazzling performances. It’s an affirmation that she’s taken on from Queen Bey, adopting the mantra into her gold-medal mindset.

"Knowing what [Beyoncé has] gone through as an artist and when she was younger — people coming at her, body-shaming her. Yes, she is an icon and a legend, but she still went through human things.”

As she paved the way for other aspiring Olympians of color to take their place on future podiums, Chiles said that self-belief and being yourself unapologetically is the key to turning your dreams into reality.

"Always believe in the power of your dream, because your dreams are very, very powerful," she added. "Go out there and shine bright. Use every inch of your mind, your soul, your body, whatever it is, and continue to be you. Be authentic. Be unapologetic, be you, and just encourage everybody around you."
