This year, we lost Nipsey Hussle, John Witherspoon, Toni Morrison, Diahann Carroll, and most recently, up-and-coming rapper, Juice WRLD, who at the time of his death was only 21 years old. While the list of stars and loved ones who were taken from us in 2019 can go on and on, one thing that doesn't is time. Life is too short to not do all the sh*t that makes you feel alive, and R&B singer, Mya's latest adventure is a testament to this fact.

40 is the new 20. If you don't believe me, just ask Black women. The 40-year-old Girls Cruise star recently proved that it's never too late to start living with her bucket-list-worthy trip to Mauritius island, where she (intentionally) jumped out of a plane that was 10,000 feet in the air and got a birds-eye view of Mother Africa as well as "one hell of a colon cleanse".

This isn't the first time Mya's jumped out of a plane and it probably won't be the last. From transitioning into a fully vegan lifestyle to crossing off adventures on her bucket list, the singer has been focused on making the most of her time here on earth, and she doesn't plan on letting up anytime soon.

It's easier to complain about what you don't have than to actually do what you can with what you do have, and that's exactly why it's time to book that trip to Peru, take that rock climbing course, go on that hike. Don't let your bucket list collect dust until you're actually ready to kick the bucket, sis.

Beautiful passionate african american couple having a romantic candlelight dinner at home and celebrating their love together. Concept of love and relationship. Kissing and bonding. Copy space.

Hmph. Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like there is something really weird happening in the fall season air (because winter doesn’t officially begin until December 21) that cuddle season is in full swing while break-up season is as well. In fact, did you know that break-ups are so popular during the holiday season that December 11 is deemed Break-Up Day?

The reasons why relationships shift around this time vary; however, I did both roll my eyes and chuckle when I read that a very popular one is because it’s an easy way to get out of getting one’s significant other a Christmas present. SMDH.

'Constant Reassurance' Is The Relational Orange Flag No One Wants To Address

Read more than scroll. Boy, if there is a motto that I would encourage people to implement, now more than ever in their life, it would be how important it is to read (actual books, researched data and fact-based information) over merely scrolling via social media. Because boy — every time I look out on apps to see what folks are talking about, I don’t know if I’m impressed with or appalled by how many nothing-more-than-emotionalized opinions are so boldly stated when, after five minutes on Google, it’s clear that there are virtually zero facts to back them up.
