Ashanti is loving motherhood and is keeping special moments with her son to herself, at least for now. The Grammy award-winning artist gave birth to her son, Kareem Kenkaide Haynes, affectionately nicknamed KK, on July 18, 2024.

While Ashanti and hubby, Nelly, have expressed their love for their son in public, they have been keeping his identity private. During a sit-down with ET, Ashanti opened up about motherhood and why she's not sharing photos of KK on social media.

"I just feel like, he's so important to me, and I don't know if I want to share that," she said. "He's a beautiful baby, he's definitely my twin."

However, the No Address star admitted that there are instances when she's tempted to share the adorable moments of her son on social media and Nelly is eager to post their son as well. Nevertheless, she is sticking to her guns. "I just want to keep him to me for a little bit," she said.

With the announcement of her and Nelly's docuseries, fans may not have to wait long to see baby KK. Their reality show, initially reported in January 2025, will offer a glimpse into their love, family life, careers, and more. Peacock acquired the show, and the couple serves as executive producers.

While the "Happy" singer had to get adjusted to the cameras, she did find some aspects of filming enjoyable. "The part that I love is it forces us to be together. 'Cause he'll be doing his shows, I haven't done shows yet," she explained.

"I'm obviously getting back to it, but if I'm home with the baby, there's stuff going on and still we don't know where we're gonna live...but when we're all together, it's so much fun."

Lastly, Ashanti hinted that viewers can anticipate some of the intimate and fun moments fans occasionally get to witness on their social media accounts. "You have to tune in to see about KK. I'm not giving that away," she said. "You're definitely going to see some of the romantic moments, funny moments for sure."
