I'm not a snack, I'm a whole garden; one that needs water, sunshine, and positive words of affirmation to survive and thrive like the amazing lifeform that I am. And although I'm capable of getting full on all three of these things by my damn self, it's never a bad idea to have someone pour into you, especially if that someone is your partner. Recently, images surfaced of Wale and his new girlfriend, and he wants you to know that not only does she quench his thirst, but she offers him all of the sunshine and positive affirmations that his heart could handle.

In a live interview with Elliot Wilson, Wale let critics know that his girlfriend India Graham has a name we should get used to, so we should put some respect on it. Earlier this month, some good old fashioned PDA confirmed the couple's relationship, which Wale has *tried* to keep under wraps until now. According to the internet, the 22-year-old model is originally from Lansing, Michigan, loves cooking, and oh yeah, makes six figures a year, and during his interview, Wale had a word for India's critics:

"Now, you say 'that model chick.' By the grace of God, I don't ever want those words to leave your lips again like that, 'cause that ain't no model chick. That's a special human being that came in my life, taught me about affirmations, taught me how to love better, taught me how to be positive."

In the past, the rapper has been open about his issues with commitment and transparency in his romantic relationships and even was the subject of a "love intervention" on Jada Pinkett Smith's Red Table Talk. The father-of-one was previously linked to Chloe Alexis and says that although he and the mother of his child decided to find love outside of one another, he still will have her back any day, and that's on gang.

"I got one of the most beautiful, powerful, inspirational, dedicated baby mothers of all time. I do! Somewhere along the line, we lost our way – as far as us connecting as lovers – but I will always hold that woman down for the rest of my life until I have no motherf*ckin' breath left in my lungs."

Now, after taking time to heal from his past transgressions, Wale is ready to open his heart again, and from the looks of it, he's finally found the "Ambitious Girl" he dreamed of. Along with teaching him about the power of affirmation, Wale says India has helped him learn more about himself:

"That woman's beautiful inside and out. That woman taught me so much about myself. And model chick's disgustingly underplaying what she really is. She is a smart, beautiful, motivating Black woman. She just happens to be good and makes six figures for taking pictures."

Generation To Generation: Courtney Adeleye On Black Hair, Healing, And Choice

This article is in partnership with Target.

For many Black women, getting a relaxer was a rite of passage, an inheritance passed down from the generation before us, and perhaps even before her. It marked the transition from Black girlhood to adolescence. Tight coils, twisted plaits, and the clickety-clack of barrettes were traded for chemical perms and the familiar sting of scalp burns.

A 5-Year Healing Journey Taught Me How To Choose Myself

They say you can’t heal in the same place that made you sick. And I couldn’t.

The year was 2019, and I knew I had to go. My spirit was calling me to be alone and to go alone. It was required in that season. A few months prior, I had quit my job. And it was late 2017 when I had met trauma.

What Loving Yourself Actually Looks Like

Whitney said it, right? She told us that if we simply learned to love ourselves, what would ultimately happen is, we would achieve the "Greatest Love of All." But y'all, the more time I spend on this planet, the more I come to see that one of the reasons why it's so hard to hit the mark, when it comes to all things love-related, is because you first have to define love in order to know how to do it…right and well.

Personally, I am a Bible follower, so The Love Chapter is certainly a great reference point. Let's go with the Message Version of it today:
