Last weekend, Cynthia Bailey and her fiancé, Mike Hill, sparked rumors of a surprise wedding after being spotted posing outside of the J.W. Marriott Essex Hotel in NYC serving up all of the #newlyweded energy, but the Real Housewives of Atlanta star and her boo made it very clear that they haven't jumped the broom just yet.

In fact, Cynthia's surprise wedding was only a photoshoot and on a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, the 52-year-old mother-of-one revealed that there are some very important documents that have to be signed before she and Mike truly go on to live blissfully in melanin matrimony. In response to a caller's question, the reality star confirmed that she and her soon-to-be hubby will definitely be signing a prenuptial agreement. She explained:

"I think it just is smart. It protects everyone and we're working on some really great things together. We actually had this conversation with Kandi and Todd and we got a chance to see how they kind of like, worked it out."

It's not unfair for women like Kandi and Cynthia, who have both cultivated very lucrative careers, to desire a sense of security when it comes to their legal affairs. Mike, who appeared on the show earlier in the segment, explained that he shared the same sentiment and happily agreed to the premarital financial agreement:

"When you come into a relationship, what's yours is yours and what's mine is mine and what we make together we can split if it happens to end that way.“

The couple, who got engaged last October, says that they have been adamant about creating a space for open and honest communication in their relationship, and shared that they are both very much aware of the responsibilities of getting married as mature, previously divorced individuals. In an interview with People last year, she explained:

"You know, we've both been married before, so marriage is something we both understand. We're not jumping into this blind. We both have kids and we both love each other very much. We know marriage is the next step."

Although Cynthia and Mike's rumored surprise wedding wasn't actually a thing, the business owner did reveal an official wedding date. She told Peoples Reality Check:

"I actually have to thank Kandi Burruss for helping us with the date. We had been wanting to do it in October, but I didn't actually know when. We were actually in Greece, we were on the bus just bored and talking about wedding stuff. And she said, '10/10/20 — like 20/20 vision.' It falls on a Saturday. It's perfect. Perfect vision, perfect date. And our little mantra is, 'We're not perfect, but we're perfect for each other.' So it works."

Generation To Generation: Courtney Adeleye On Black Hair, Healing, And Choice

This article is in partnership with Target.

For many Black women, getting a relaxer was a rite of passage, an inheritance passed down from the generation before us, and perhaps even before her. It marked the transition from Black girlhood to adolescence. Tight coils, twisted plaits, and the clickety-clack of barrettes were traded for chemical perms and the familiar sting of scalp burns.

They say you can’t heal in the same place that made you sick. And I couldn’t.

The year was 2019, and I knew I had to go. My spirit was calling me to be alone and to go alone. It was required in that season. A few months prior, I had quit my job. And it was late 2017 when I had met trauma.

What Loving Yourself Actually Looks Like

Whitney said it, right? She told us that if we simply learned to love ourselves, what would ultimately happen is, we would achieve the "Greatest Love of All." But y'all, the more time I spend on this planet, the more I come to see that one of the reasons why it's so hard to hit the mark, when it comes to all things love-related, is because you first have to define love in order to know how to do it…right and well.

Personally, I am a Bible follower, so The Love Chapter is certainly a great reference point. Let's go with the Message Version of it today:
