What Your Zodiac Sign Reveals About Your Unhealthy Habits & How You Can Work To Stop Them

As with life, love, money, and work, your zodiac sign has a great deal of influence over your health, and particularly your health habits.

Maybe you have a hard time cutting out the sweets, or you always flake out on going to the gym. Perhaps your mood often dictates how you feel physically, and you have a hard time getting out of a funk. Whatever the case, the cards have divine advice for how you could cut the bad habits. Take whatever resonates with you, and start living your best life!

Aries

The Aries symbol is the ram who is fiery and headstrong. People with this sun and moon sign tend to let health issues go until it's too late, and then BOOM, everything hits you all at once! Because of this fire energy, a lot of Aries might find themselves not giving their bodies the attention it needs. Our bodies have a way of letting us know when something is out of whack. Don't allow your stubborn nature to stop you from paying attention to any health issues, or convincing yourself that they will just go away on its own. Your willpower could be stronger than your immune system and if you overwork yourself, you could put your overall health at risk. Learn to accept the need to slow down for the sake of your well-being.

Health Tip: Remain internally energized by taking daily vitamins. You are what you eat, so make sure that you are putting healthy, nutritious fuel into your body to maintain that Aries spirit.

Taurus

Similarly to Aries, a Taurus, whose sign represents the bull, often finds themselves stubborn when it comes to health. Taureans have issues with going through the same cycle of the same health issue over and over again. This could be a lack of committing to swearing off bad habits. For instance, if you know that whenever you drink coffee, you get a bad stomach ache, opt for drinking hot tea instead. Or, if you know that eating a certain food breaks you out, become stronger than your desire for that food, and put your body first. I know that this can be really hard as a Taurus myself, but I cannot blame anyone but myself if I continue the same bad habits that I complain about in the same breath. A lot of these issues, if not checked, will come back to haunt you later in life when your body is less likely able to combat illnesses.

Health Tip: Stick to your word! Don't make strict rules for yourself, then break them every time. If you are setting your health bar too high, give yourself some leeway and be reasonable with your own restrictions when it comes to staying healthy. If you have to, wean yourself off of bad choices.

Gemini

Geminis are one of the biggest signs that hate to hear bad news, let alone believe it. Often times, a Gemini would rather take their doctor's orders with a grain of salt over a dose of medicine if they could help it. If you have been dealing with some health issue that you have been avoiding taking seriously, it might be wise to at least get a second opinion before making your judgement calls. Choosing holistic alternative methods to health care is different from ignoring red flags altogether. Be sure not to trick your mind into thinking all is well, just because you don't see any physical symptoms of anything. Make sure to get your general physicals over with.

Health Tip: Do not throw your cautions to the wind, especially if there's anything specific that runs in your family. It won't hurt you get a little check up.

Cancer

When a Cancer is experiencing health problems, one of the things that exacerbate the issue is the mental and emotional worry over the situation. It is common for many Cancers to misdiagnose themselves with useless searches on Google and sites like WebMD. Your desire to seek out every possible cause for something as common as a cold, can cause unnecessary distress. What you give your energy to can manifest in the flesh, and this includes illnesses. Don't think yourself into a worse condition because of fear and concern. Rather, focus on all the things you can do to stay healthy and happy.

Health Tip: Make a goal list of the ways in which you want to become healthier. Perhaps you want to to grow a certain length of hair or nails in a certain amount of time. Maybe you want to clear up your complexion or achieve your summer body. Write it all down and list the ways in which you will achieve that health goal. Maybe you will commit to taking biotin on the daily, increase your intake of apple cider vinegar, or complete a squat challenge. Stick to the plan and stay positive.

Leo

For the Leos out there, you must be willing change whatever has been causing you ongoing issues. This might even start with acknowledging an ailment to begin with. Some of the first steps to self-care is having a willingness to put your hangups aside and surrender to whatever is necessary to heal. This applies to a wide range of health problems. If you have a broken leg, or dislocated shoulder, don't try to get away with taking off the brace or cast early because it stunts your comfortability. If you know you have issues with anger or depression, don't flake on therapy sessions, or family interventions. Regardless of what you are experiencing, your state of mind and perception is what will ultimately control how you deal with pain and sickness. If you are battling something serious, think of yourself as a warrior, not a victim. Change your attitude by trying to find something positive in each day, even if you feel ill.

Scorpio

Many Scorpios get into trouble with their health when it comes to overindulgence of things that give pleasure or satisfaction. This could be sweets, sex, drugs, alcohol, or even burning out from excessive workouts. Due to the very intense nature of a Scorpio, sometimes vices of all sorts can take a hold. When it comes to your health, stay away from anything that you know you might have the propensity towards being addicted to. This includes things like Monster Energy drinks that contain dangerous levels of caffeine and sugar. Also be aware that you can turn anything into a bad health habit if engaged in out of moderation. Remember to always think if your health habit stems from self-love and care, or an insatiable desire.

Health Tip: Enlist a partner in health! Get with a friend or family member to commit to a shared health goal. Become gym mates and hit the weights and cardio together. Keep tabs on one another and make sure neither of you are falling off.

Sagittarius

Sagittarians have a fiery, extroverted energy that make them a very free-spirited sign. In this free spiritedness, or non attachment to certain things is where bad health habits might lie. If you have been dealing with a health issue that you are very aware of, and you seem to go back and forth with acknowledging, and then sweeping it under a rug, it might be time to face this issue head-on. This could be anything from fibroids to seasonal depression. Whatever is an issue for you, but is not "life threatening," still needs to be handled with tender love and care. It could be easy to sugarcoat any personal health issues, but if something lingers in the back of your mind, then this is a sure sign that you should do what you have to do once and for all. You can never make a "mountain out of a molehill," when it comes to being completely healthy.

Health Tip: Make sure you dedicate ample enough time for self-care, self-love and self-reflection. It is more than okay to love yourself and desire to find balance in your life in all things.

Capricorn

When it comes to Capricorn health, many people with this sign are overcome by anxiety and frustration when undergoing health problems. If you have a habit of blowing things out of proportion when it comes to being ill, you will only end up worsening any condition with emotions and stress. By focusing on the negative, you can throw your own self out of whack, and off routine. This can also affect your immune system. Negativity is in part responsible for things like physically feeling sick when you are very stressed. This leaves you vulnerable to all sorts of threats and the simple fact of having this kind of dominance on one side of the immune system is bad for your overall health.

Health Tip: If you have a propensity towards hypochondriac characteristics, learn to break this mode of thinking as it begins. Some health issues can be self-created and self perpetuated if you let it. For example, say you "feel" a migraine coming on. If you have go to medication that you take before you even experience physical symptoms, learn to wean yourself off painkillers. Take a riboflavin supplement instead.

Aquarius

The Aquarius sign is in the element of air, and its symbol is of the water bearer. For this reason, Aquarians tend to go with the flow in all things. This is where the bad health habit may lie. If you tend to have a lackadaisical attitude towards your health, or a "let nature take its course" point of view, you may end up becoming desensitized, or even used to any discomfort that comes along with recurring health issues. For instance, say you have digestive issues, or problems with belly aches. Instead of expecting your body to react in the same way, be proactive in avoiding the triggers that cause these recurring issues to begin with. If you know your stomach will act up for about 15 minutes after having dairy, then it will go away, don't be a self-enabler and withstand that discomfort for a couple of scoops of ice cream. Opt for sorbet, or something that does not have lactose.

Health Tip: Practice finding alternative foods and beverages for anything that disrupts your health. This also goes for bad habits like smoking. Try herbal cigarettes or shisha hookah, if you have issues with tobacco.

Pisces

The Pisces sign falls in the element of water, and is symbolized by the duality of two fish. As a deeply intuitive and emotional sign, a Pisces' general health is very much intertwined with their mood and emotional body. Due to this very Piscean trait, this might be where your bad health habit lies. If you are feeling misaligned or imbalanced emotionally, you likely will feel off physically. It is a proven fact that negativity, and stress lowers your immune system's defense. The energy also suggests that eating comfort food might be a way that you deal with feeling under the weather. Just be sure to munch on more high vibrational foods over unhealthy junk foods. As the saying goes, "You are what you eat." Believe it or not, certain low vibrational foods absolutely affect your mood.
