Mirror, mirror on the wall / Don't say it, 'cause I know I'm cute, oh baby.

Lizzo has been lit up like a crystal ball and now, both the entertainment industry and the world and at large finally understand the magnitude of her shine. We're a little more than halfway through the year, and Lizzo is definitely winning. Only week after snatching all of our edges back-to-back at both the MTV and BET Awards, Lizzo recently announced another major money move that proves that it pays to be different.

Last week, Lizzo and Urban Decay revealed an epic collaboration for their latest collection, "Pretty Different" which also features Joey King (The Act), as well as Colombian reggaeton singer Karol G, CL, and Ezra Miller; and apparently the "Truth Hurts" singer is just as psyched about it as we are. In a social media announcement that featured a clip from Urban Decay's new Black Mirror-style advertisement, she wrote:

"I LOVE MY WIDE FACE, HIGH CHEEKBONES AND DOUBLE CHIN! IM A BAD BITCH IN MY @URBANDECAYCOSMETICS!!!"

The collection is a part of Urban Decay's initiative to diversify what we consider as beautiful and show the beauty industry that there's far more than one shade of pretty. Wendy Zonmir, one of Urban Decay's founder partners, had this to say about the collection:

"'Pretty Different' is our anthem for fellow makeup junkies who don't subscribe to beauty standards. It's our tribute to individuality because everyone is pretty different. It's our approach to reinventing what it means to be a beauty brand."

It marked the transition from Black girlhood to adolescence. Tight coils, twisted plaits, and the clickety-clack of barrettes were traded for chemical perms and the familiar sting of scalp burns.

A 5-Year Healing Journey Taught Me How To Choose Myself

They say you can’t heal in the same place that made you sick. And I couldn’t.

The year was 2019, and I knew I had to go. My spirit was calling me to be alone and to go alone. It was required in that season. A few months prior, I had quit my job. And it was late 2017 when I had met trauma.

What Loving Yourself Actually Looks Like

Whitney said it, right? She told us that if we simply learned to love ourselves, what would ultimately happen is, we would achieve the "Greatest Love of All." But y'all, the more time I spend on this planet, the more I come to see that one of the reasons why it's so hard to hit the mark, when it comes to all things love-related, is because you first have to define love in order to know how to do it…right and well.

Personally, I am a Bible follower, so The Love Chapter is certainly a great reference point. Let's go with the Message Version of it today:
