Hmm…I’d venture to say that one of the reasons why people are so fond of this time of year is because of the memories that they’ve already made when it comes to it — time with loved ones, pretty decorations, the one time of year when most folks are on the same page of cultivating peace and harmony. Yeah, the nostalgia from Thanksgiving until New Year’s Day can be pretty darn special.

That said, c’mon now — why should couples and their sex life be left out of this profound and lasting level of sentimentality? I mean, shouldn’t they also be able to look back on this season and be able to wink at each other or giggle to themselves?

Of course, they should — and so, in the spirit of that, I have come up with 10 tips that can help you and your bae to make some pretty unforgettable sex-related memories in 2025.

Get into it, sis.

1. Cultivate a Sexy Christmas Music Playlist

Giphy

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said a billion times that one of the best things about sex — well, good sex — is the fact that it incorporates all five of your senses: sight, touch, taste, sound and smell. And when it comes to hearing, specifically, one way to really get into the mood is to turn on some seductive music. You can check out “Before You Pull Out Your Playlist, This Is How Music Affects Your Sex Life” for a detailed reason of why this is so effective; for now, I’ll just say that music has a way of turning you on in a way that nothing else can.

So, in the spirit of Christmas, put together a sexy holiday-themed playlist. Personally, although “Let It Snow” used to be an immediate go-to, certain celebrities have tainted that for me a bit (IYKYK). Anyway, if you want a preset list with some other Christmas slow jams, “Relaxing Christmas Playlist – Warm Winter Ballads & Holiday Grooves” and “R&B Soulful Blues Christmas | Mistletoe Love & Holiday Passion Playlist” on YouTube are really cool options.

2. Get Creative with Some Sex-Themed Cookie Cutters

Giphy

While the music is playing softly in the background, there are all sorts of activities that you can do together with your boo. For instance, since desserts and Christmas literally go hand in hand, why not make some Herbal Aphrodisiac Shortbread Cookies or try The Aphrodisiac Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe? To really spice things up, make everything with nothing on but a Christmas-themed apron and/or Santa hat on.

Oh, and don’t forget to cop some sex-themed cookie cutters too. Etsy has some naked gingerbread ladies (here), some gingerbread BDSM men (here), some bra and panties (here), some sex toys (here) and some sex position ones (here)…for starters, chile.

3. Personalize a “Sex Message” Gift

Giphy

Speaking of Etsy, one of my favorite things about the site is you can personalize/customize just about anything that you can think of. So, in the spirit of creating unforgettable sexual memories with your man, make him something that either has a NSFW message for him or some sort of inside sex-themed joke. For instance, on the platform, I saw a bourbon glass that said, “David, thanks for all of the orgasms. Keep that sh-t up.” Brilliant. LOL. You can see it for yourself here.

4. Invest in “Naughty” Stocking Stuffers

Giphy

Grown people deserve stockings too. This year, instead of gloves, gift cards and socks — go with sexy things like Christmas condoms, small massage wax candles, blindfolds, sex-themed date night tokens, sex-themed jewelry, a new sex toy, some sex wipes and fun-yet-sexy undies like a pair of “Kiss Me Under Mistletoe” thongs (here).

5. Put Mistletoes All over the Place

Giphy

Speaking of mistletoe — if you’ve ever wondered why it’s a part of Christmas and kissing, there are a few versions of the origin story. For the sake of space and time, a pretty believable one is the fact that, back in the day, (believe it or not) Celtic Druids considered this parasitic plant to be a symbol of fertility and protection. Mistletoe is also a member of the sandalwood family which may be one of the top reasons why sandalwood is considered to be an aphrodisiac scent.

Anyway, being that mistletoe and poinsettias are probably the most popular plants for this time of year, and also since mistletoe goes hand in hand with oral affection, get as many as possible and put them all over the place — not just in doorways either. #wink

6. Make Some Christmastime-Flavored Sex Condiments

Giphy

Personally, I’m all for bringing certain condiments into the boudoir: whipped cream, chocolate syrup, honey. Something else that I highly-recommend is adding a little temperature play into your foreplay action (check out “Hot Sex: 10 Super Sultry Reasons To Bring Wax Play Into Your Bedroom”). One way to blend the two of these is to forego traditional candle wax and go with some warm hot caramel instead. Since caramel is a fairly popular candy this time of year, why not make some to munch on and then melt a few to pour…around? Perfection.

7. Come Up with a “Naughty List” and Check Off As Many As Possible

Giphy

Years ago, I wrote an article for the platform entitled, “This Is How To Create The Best Kind Of ‘Sex Bucket List.’” Y’all, I have been working with couples for a really long time now and whenever one (or both) of them tell me that they are bored with their sex life (check out “7 Signs You're In A 'Sex Rut' & How To Get Out Of It”), I’ve come to discover that it usually just means that they are tired of doing the same things, the same way, over and over again.

A remedy for that? Come up with a sex bucket list that is full of fantasies. Together, rate them based on what are hard no's, what you both are willing to consider and what you are definitely down for trying. In the spirit of Christmas, call it your “naughty list” and really take things up a notch by committing to do as many “yes” and “maybes” as possible before the clock strikes 12 on January 1. Give each other something “nice” for stepping out on the “considerables” too.

8. Have a “Foreplay During a Christmas Movie” Night

Giphy

If you’ve ever watched Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, you’re aware that one of the things that he does is ask the viewers to take a shot whenever a particular word pops up on their TV screen. Along these same lines, if you want to make foreplay interesting, watch a few holiday movies with the added “rule” of taking off a piece of clothing, taking your own shot of tequila (IYKYK) or kissing or licking different body parts whenever something like “Christmas tree” is said or snowfall starts to happen. Shoot, you could look up and discover that it’s your new favorite holiday-themed thing to do.

9. Wear Some Butt-Flap Pajamas

Giphy

Listen, I love me some Black men and nothing about that is ever going to change. That doesn’t mean that I can’t appreciate the beauty of Black women, though — and there is something about seeing them in a onesie that I think is both sexy and adorable at the same time. I unofficially polled some men in my life who said that they felt the same way, so long as the onesies were form-fitting and had buttons or a zipper — and that reminded me to shout-out butt flap PJs. They’re cute. They’re warm. And they make for super easy access when it comes to certain positions…if you know what I mean. #wink

10. Be Each Other’s Christmas Tree

Giphy

I can’t remember exactly where I heard this idea before; clearly it made enough of an impression that I remembered it, though. The key here is each of you take turns getting butt naked. The one who has some sort of clothes on (LOL), they then get to “decorate” the other with blindfolds, bows, nipple clips, hand and ankle cuffs — whatever tickles y’all’s fancy. This one really could make for quite an interesting evening.

See…I told you that I was going to share some ways to get you all hot ‘n bothered for Christmas.

Here’s to you and your man making your sex life, this holiday season, the absolute best one yet!

Hmph. Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like there is something really weird happening in the fall season air (because winter doesn’t officially begin until December 21) that cuddle season is in full swing while break-up season is as well. In fact, did you know that break-ups are so popular during the holiday season that December 11 is deemed Break-Up Day?

The reasons why relationships shift around this time vary; however, I did both roll my eyes and chuckle when I read that a very popular one is because it’s an easy way to get out of getting one’s significant other a Christmas present. SMDH.

7 Tips For Deactivating Family-Related Triggers This Holiday Season

Sometimes, people who read content on the site will email me for advice. Today’s content is an example of that because an avid supporter of the site hit me up for my opinion about the fact that, although she has been able to dodge family occasions for the past couple of years, this year, she has to “face the music” — and she was pretty nervous about it. According to her, it’s because “My family can be…A LOT.”

She’s not alone. Reportedly, 40 percent of family members find themselves getting into some sort of fight over the holiday season and 1 in 3 Gen Z’ers opt for friends over family during the holidays. And that’s why I thought that I would do everyone a solid by writing an article that features some effective tips/hacks on how to deal with your relatives…if they tend to trigger you more than just about anything else (whether intentionally or unintentionally) whenever you’re around them.
