Getting my nails done feels like self-care to me, and that's not up for debate. When I was younger, I stuck with bold colors on my nails, but didn't really dip my toe into nail designs until I got older. Once I started getting more confident in myself, I realized that I love elaborate and intricate nail art because it literally is a second version of self-expression. But of course, nail trends come and go, and it's always hard to keep up.

Well, IG has spoken and tortoiseshell nails are back on our roster.

I think this trend means a lot to me because I had a tortoise growing up #sentimentalmoment, but these nails are also fire with their design. Just looking at the #tortoiseshellnails hashtag will immediately fill you with nail envy and excitement for a hot girl summer. People have put their own spin on the trend — from adding neon (another nail trend) stripes to some nails, to a variety of coloration and technique.

If you're interested in the trend, remember that it's not about mastery, it's about fun. So, if you're down to try tortoiseshell nails, we've rounded up a few recommendations on how you can put your own flavor on it:

Pack A Travel Case With These 12 Items For Amazing 'Summer Vacation Sex'

It’s kind of funny that while I’m literally in the process of writing this article, the Los Angeles Times published “How to get lucky on your family vacation” hours prior. LOL. Although this year marks a bit of a dip in the amount of Americans who plan on taking a summer vacation (because this administration ain’t making coin-keeping easy, y’all) — it’s still being reported that around 53 percent will do so in the name of rest, relaxation and spending quality time with their loved ones.

And for many, the loved ones category absolutely includes their bae. And if that is the case, that probably means that sex is somewhere on the menu.
