Sadly, we've reached the home-stretch of summer 2018. While we still have a few weeks to bask in the sunshine days, sultry nights and endless fun, before you know it, fall will be upon us.


To commemorate the end of summer, we've decided to give you a list of things to do with your boo, your friends, or yourself to give the summer season the proper send-off it deserves.

Do One Touristy Thing In Your City

Sometimes it's easy to take where you live for granted. With such busy lives and thinking of the next thing you have to do on your long list of tasks, fully appreciating your city can easily get lost.

Plan a day where you do one thing in your city that tourists usually do, but try to make it something that you've never actually done before. This way you can experience your city through a new set of eyes.

Because We Are Still IT, Girl: It Girl 100 Returns

Last year, when our xoNecole team dropped our inaugural It Girl 100 honoree list, the world felt, ahem, a bit brighter.

It was March 2024, and we still had a Black woman as the Vice President of the United States. DEI rollbacks weren’t being tossed around like confetti. And more than 300,000 Black women were still gainfully employed in the workforce.

Though that was just nineteen months ago, things were different. Perhaps the world then felt more receptive to our light as Black women.

At the time, we launched It Girl 100 to spotlight the huge motion we were making as dope, GenZennial Black women leaving our mark on culture. The girls were on the rise, flourishing, drinking their water, minding their business, leading companies, and learning to do it all softly, in rest. We wanted to celebrate that momentum—because we love that for us.
