According to New York City Board Certified Dermatologist, Dr. Howard-Verović, understanding the difference between antiperspirants and deodorants is key to finding what works best for you and your body. “Antiperspirants are formulated with ingredients to block the sweat duct, therefore, decreasing sweat,” she tells xoNecole. “Deodorants are typically formulated with ingredients to absorb sweat and minimize odor.” In other words, it’s okay to sweat, but you want to smell good while doing it.

Because the scents come with a subtle, perfumy aroma, Dr. Howard shares her favorite scent from the line and suggests considering your lifestyle when determining which scent is best for you. “The orange blossom neroli, by far, [is my favorite]. I love fresh citrus scents especially since I am in a clinical setting all day,” she says. “I love that the Glosser team created an unscented option for those who are sensitive to fragrances.”
So what’s the verdict? After trying out the new deodorant, I can say that I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved the product. As someone who already uses the Glossier ‘You’ perfume on a daily basis, having the deodorant in the same scent served as the perfect compliment. While I may not use the deodorant for activities that require a little more exertion such as my morning walks or Pilates routines, I do see myself reaching for it on occasions like going out on the town, a trip to the coffee shop, running errands, and to feel extra nice during a date night.
