Getting back on the dating scene hasn’t been smooth sailing for Tia Mowry, but the Sister, Sister star is clear on controlling the narrative about her journey.

On Saturday, the Twitches actor expressed her frustration with unauthorized stories about her love life, emphasizing that she won't return to something that no longer aligns with her personal growth.

“A word from ME since narratives are being made without my consent. Hear it here and ONLY here,” Tia shared in the caption of her post.

“Just because the dating life is complicated. Doesn't mean I'm going to go back to something that no longer served me. That's like implementing if I don't book an audition or a part as an actor RIGHT AWAY I'm going to give up on my dreams.”

Tia added, “Please just stop. I ain't that weak. Please move on because I have. Thank you NEXT.”

The news of Tia's divorce from her husband, Cory Hardrict, took the general public by surprise. After 14 years, Tia broke the news of their separation in October 2022 in a heartfelt Instagram post.

"I have always been honest with my fans, and today is no different. I wanted to share that Cory and I have decided to go our separate ways," she wrote in the caption. "These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness. We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children.”

Since then, Tia has kept her supporters in the loop of the ups and downs of her new dating life through relatable and lighthearted TikTok videos that take a comedic spin on the frustrations that many singles face when being back on the market.

In one TikTok, she’s seen completing her makeup in the mirror with text that reads, “welp, never thought I’d be here, but here goes…” to a sound that depicts the common line of questioning shared during a date.

Fun Fact: I’ve never been on the dating scene my entire life 😬 So when I tell you I’m nervous and terrified of doing this whole dating thing, I mean it 😭Even though I’m in my 40’s, I feel so inexperienced! And while it would be easy to just throw in the towel and avoid the potential for awkwardness and hurt, I know God’s got me! So if you’re feeling apprehensive about new experiences, just know you got this, and we’re in this together!

She continues, “Even though I’m in my 40’s, I feel so inexperienced! And while it would be easy to just throw in the towel and avoid the potential for awkwardness and hurt, I know God’s got me! It’s clear that dating is tough for everyone right now, so from one single woman to another: keep the faith and trust the process, Tia.

Coconut Water, Papaya Masks, Bone Broth & 7 Other 'Edible' Skincare Recipes To Try Out

I don’t know about you, but there have been dozens of times (at least) when I’ve heard that when it comes to narrowing down what beauty products I should use, “If you can’t eat it, don’t apply it.”

Although I do think that there should be a bit of nuance that’s applied to that type of resolve, I must admit that I do get the overall point because, when you’re trying to give your skin the best possible pampering and care, the less chemicals that you apply, ultimately, the better. Plus, there are so many things that are even in our own refrigerators that can make our skin look radiantly flawless.
