Queen Latifah has received many accolades over the course of her career such as a Grammy, BET Lifetime Achievement award, and an Emmy. But one category she continues to slay in is best hair, in which we can all agree she gets 10’s all across the board. Whether it’s a red carpet appearance, advertising, or acting in roles such as The Equalizer, Queen Latifah's, born Dana Elaine Owens, hair is always laid.

Well, we finally know who’s responsible for the Queen’s glorious locks. In a video that has been circulating on Twitter, the veteran entertainer showed off her hairstylist.

“I know y’all wanna know, who does my hair. Who gets this color so right? Oh my God, who is she?” The U.N.I.T.Y. rapper teased. “Well, there she is,” panning the camera to her hairstylist. “The enigma. Iasia Merriweather.”

Iasia has worked with Queen Latifah on projects such as Just Wright, Girls Trip, Bessie, and more recently The Equalizer. According to IMDB, she won a Daytime Emmy in 2014 for her hairstyling on the actress’s now-defunct talk show The Queen Latifah Show and was nominated again in 2015 for her work on Bessie.

Like many Black women, Queen Latifah and her hair have seen the best of times and the worst of times. But she credits the people she has come in contact with over the years that showed her how to take care of her hair.

“I studied what people did around me,” she said in an interview with Essence. “I’ve had the great fortune of working with some very amazing makeup artists, hairstylists, and I study them, you know?”

She continued, “I watch what they do when I’m sitting in their chair—if I’m awake. I can appreciate great work, and they teach me things. They tell me things.”

Beautiful passionate african american couple having a romantic candlelight dinner at home and celebrating their love together. Concept of love and relationship. Kissing and bonding. Copy space.

Hmph. Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like there is something really weird happening in the fall season air (because winter doesn’t officially begin until December 21) that cuddle season is in full swing while break-up season is as well. In fact, did you know that break-ups are so popular during the holiday season that December 11 is deemed Break-Up Day?

The reasons why relationships shift around this time vary; however, I did both roll my eyes and chuckle when I read that a very popular one is because it’s an easy way to get out of getting one’s significant other a Christmas present. SMDH.

Sergio Hudson On Designing With Intention And Who Gets Left Out Of The Industry

Sergio Hudson dreamt big as a young South Carolina boy staring out of the window of his mom’s Volvo driving down the Ridgeway, South Carolina streets. Those dreams led him to design opulent tailoring that’s been worn by Beyoncé, Queen Latifah, former Vice President Kamala Harris and Forever First Lady Michelle Obama, just to name a few.

Those dreams have come full circle in a new way as he recently collaborated with Volvo for a mini capsule collection suitable for chic and stylish moments this fall. The 40-year-old designer follows a long legacy of fashion aficionados who’ve used their innovation to push the automotive industry forward, including Virgil Abloh, Eddie Bauer, Paul Smith and Jeremy Scott.
