Rihanna Announces History-Making Collab With The Largest Luxury Clothing Brand In The World

Rihanna was absent at this year's Met Gala, and her absence did not go unnoticed. While we watched our favorite stars slay the red carpet in the name of Camp culture, this Bajan princess was cooking up a legendary master plan that none of us were expecting.

Recently it was announced that the world's largest luxury brand, LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, would be embarking on a predictably lucrative entrepreneurial journey with America's favorite bad girl. In a history-making money move, Rihanna just became the first woman to create an original brand with the company as well as the first woman of color to be at ever the top of an LVMH Maison and it's a big f*cking deal. The singer wrote on Twitter:

"Big day for the culture. Thank you Mr.Arnault for believing in this little girl from the left side of an island, and for giving me the opportunity to grow with you at @LVMH."

The last house created by the billion-dollar brand was in 1987 by legendary French fashion designer, Christian Lacroix, and Rihanna being his predecessor is reflective of the reputation she's built in both the business and fashion industry. Bernard Arnault, CEO, and chairman of LVMH had this to say about the iconic businesswoman:

"Everybody knows Rihanna as a wonderful singer, but through our partnership at Fenty Beauty, I discovered a true entrepreneur, a real CEO, and a terrific leader. She naturally finds her full place within LVMH. To support Rihanna to start up the Fenty Maison, we have built a talented and multicultural team supported by the Group resources. I am proud that LVMH is leading this venture and wish it will be a great success."

Rihanna's middle name is "inclusivity," so we can always count on Rih to do it for the culture, so you know she had to make some room for people of color at the table.

Rihanna will have full creative control of the fashion house with "no artistic limits" which in translation means that it's about to be lit lit. The brand will be based in Paris and sell a luxury line of ready to wear, clothes, and accessories, including sunglasses and jewelry.

"Designing a line like this with LVMH is an incredibly special moment for us. Mr. Arnault has given me a unique opportunity to develop a fashion house in the luxury sector, with no artistic limits."

It's unclear how long this project has been in the works, but damn. Rihanna sure knows how to pull off a surprise. She continued:

"I couldn't imagine a better partner both creatively and business-wise, and I'm ready for the world to see what we have built together."

Today, the singer also released her Fenty Beauty summer collection online and in stores, so it's imperative that you hide your coins, sis, because Rihanna is coming for our wallets.
