Toni Braxton Has Us Screaming "53 Where?!" All Over Our Timelines In 2021

It's Toni 'Theeeeee Motherf%&$' Braxton!

Celebrity News

OK, so cannnnnnn we talk about how Ms. Toni 'Damn' Braxton hasn't been playing fair in 2021? We can? OK, let's do it.

It all started when she debuted a new platinum blonde pixie cut around Christmas time. She shocked us all by rocking a cutout red dress while decorating the tree, spending time with family, and taking part in various krimuh activities.

And listen, since, sis has been acting up on the 'gram! Hot woman summer...activated.

Braxton, who turned 53 in October, has famously been one of the most beautiful women in the world since emerging on our televisions and record tapes in the early 90's. She is approaching her 30th year in the business and she hasn't let up one nanosecond either. I mean, seriously, whatever juice Toni has been drinking, I need some, because the confidence and lewks is what these 20-year-olds wish they had, mkay?!

But if you ask her, it's not juice at all that has the Grammy winner flexing for the people: it's weed. CBD products to be exact. She has also been focused on skincare and exercise while staying home during the quarantine period, which shows!

She tells Instyle:

"I work[out] hard. I can't lie, I work hard. The maintenance on this car — my body — has to last me 80, 90 years, so I have to take great care of it."

She's also been crediting her newfound look and confidence to her transition to a plant-based lifestyle. She tells Prevention last year:

"I'm becoming plant-based. I'm in the process [of] slowly eliminating meat and replacing it with fish. But I'm going fully plant-based. It's making me feel better, so there is some truth it. But I do miss a good burger."

She continued:

"I'm lucky today. I'm in a better state today than I was when I was first diagnosed. I know what to do when my body feels weird. I listen to my body now. I always try to find the silver lining in everything. Today is a good day!"

And although I'm about to drop a tear at the fact that I have to give up burgers to look like Toni at 53, I also can't help but to see the benefit of doing so. *sigh*

I’m sure a high percentage of people who chose to click this article either are fixers, former fixers, or maybe they want to understand why fixers feel the need to make it their responsibility to change everyone. Well, for one, barely anyone who fits the bill knows why they do what they do until it exhausts them—like myself. I have been a fixer for as long as I can remember. I’ve always loved fighting for the underdog. Something about being needed for the betterment of people’s lives has always felt very fulfilling to me. That is until I’d invested so much in many close relationships that it backfired on me. And like many fixers, I would question how I could have offered so much, yet people treated me anyhow in the end?

When I first heard about Harlem, the new Amazon series about four Black girlfriends in the city, I admit, I wasn't a fan. There, I said it. I'm a child of the golden era of Girlfriends, Living Single, Friends, Moesha, Sex and the City, and The L Word. My friends and I were real-life offspring of these constructs who had a lot in common with the women of those shows. Even after enjoying a season of the similar new Showtime series Run the World, I'd had enough of stories about friends "navigating their way through" their 20s, or 30s, or 40s. I loved these shows, but thought to myself, "Why do we need a Harlem? Can't we tell other stories?"

As someone who has always considered themselves beautiful at any size, I can't say that I have always loved my body. Sure, there have been moments where I thought I was the sexiest thing walking. But for the most part, all I saw when I looked in the mirror were flaws. My thighs were always too big. Butt full of dimples from cellulite. Boobs always in the way. And my arms too jiggly.
