Terry & Rebecca Crews Say Giving Up Sex For 90 Days Re-Lit The Fire In Their Romance

This may be the City Girl in me, but one of the things that I anticipate most about being married is having access to unlimited, divinely ordered coitus. Married sex are two words that sound absolutely delicious together and while this may be true, Terry and Rebecca Crews say that taking a break might be the best thing you ever do for your relationship (and your sex life).

In the season finale of the Black Love documentary OWN, Terry and Rebecca, who have been married for nearly three decades, revealed that a 90-day fast reinvigorated their sex life in ways they never thought imaginable. The 51-year-old actor explained:

"That was, still to this day, the most special time for me. I felt our relationship turned a corner because I had to realize, I have to love her all over again."

Although the couple admits to unsuccessfully trying out the experiment once before, Terry and Rebecca want you to know that the proof is in the follow-through.

"And I felt like we were kids in junior high where sex is not even part of the equation where it was like, I love you because you are Rebecca. And it became like we were just, we were best friends again and sex was out of it."

Terry, who suffered a grappling battle with porn addiction, told Men's Health earlier this year that although he and his wife have found a way to cultivate the fire in their relationship today, their marriage hasn't always been this lit. After revealing the truth about a series of lies and infidelities that he committed throughout their relationship, Terry says that he felt like he "lost his family" and had nowhere (positive) to turn:

"I didn't have a circle. I was literally all by myself. There was nobody to call. No group of guys I could go to: 'Tell me I'm good.' They would have been like, 'She doesn't understand you, dog. Let's go have a drink.'"

The actor says that since rekindling his relationship with the mother of his 5 children, he's learned that control and moderation are good concepts to apply to every area of his life, including but not limited to sex. Along with therapy, Terry says that fasting has been an integral part of making their relationship really work.

"This is the deal. Everything that is within your grasp doesn't need to be in your hand. You have to tell your body 'no'. Because if you listen to your body, you're gonna be off."
