It's been 22 years since Mya dropped her debut album and just like wine, our good sister is only getting finer with time. While this may seem like modern-day witchcraft to many, the singer says that the true secret behind her ageless beauty is self-care.

Mya, who celebrated her 41st birthday earlier this month, is proof that black will only crack if you're not taking care of it, and one of the many ways she does that is by sticking to a strict vegan diet. In a previous interview, she explained:

"Some of the changes I've experienced since being vegan, I'm no longer anemic. I'm intaking so many more healthy foods: vegetables, nuts, greens, seeds that are iron-rich."

Along with improving her coverall health, Mya says that going vegan has done wonders when it comes to her skin:

"I thought you had to have meat to have protein and get your iron, and that's just false information. I no longer get sick. Dairy has mucus buildup, which is awful for singers. I don't get sick. My skin is clear. I lost 30 pounds. I don't have to go to the gym as much, and I just have clarity…Everything in my life has benefited me just eating natural foods."

1.Change Your Eating Habits

"For great skin, it's inside out. Drinking lots of water as well as lots of natural juices. Trying to get away from the sugars, which will break you out. Trying to stay away from fried foods is my third rule because the oils come out in your skin. Trying to eat as many raw foods as possible to help in skin recovery."

2.Invest In Yourself

"When you invest in yourself, and I'm talking every aspect of yourself: financially, spiritually, emotionally, physically, you get younger. It's still possible to have a beautiful life and you really have to stop listening to what the world says is best for you and do what truly makes you happy."

3.Try Natural Alternatives To Beauty Products

"I use natural coconut oil instead of makeup remover. I use shea butter for sunblock. I take mango peels and rub them on my skin for moisturization or a mask. I use sour sop or the inside of guava to exfoliate It helps me rejuvenate really quick."

Sergio Hudson On Designing With Intention And Who Gets Left Out Of The Industry

Sergio Hudson dreamt big as a young South Carolina boy staring out of the window of his mom’s Volvo driving down the Ridgeway, South Carolina streets. Those dreams led him to design opulent tailoring that’s been worn by Beyoncé, Queen Latifah, former Vice President Kamala Harris and Forever First Lady Michelle Obama, just to name a few.

Those dreams have come full circle in a new way as he recently collaborated with Volvo for a mini capsule collection suitable for chic and stylish moments this fall. The 40-year-old designer follows a long legacy of fashion aficionados who’ve used their innovation to push the automotive industry forward, including Virgil Abloh, Eddie Bauer, Paul Smith and Jeremy Scott.

Why A Solo Trip To Aruba Was The Nervous System Reset I Needed This Winter

Christmas has always been my favorite holiday. I host every year, from intimate dinner parties to holiday movie nights and even bigger holiday parties for my business. I’m also always the person who encourages others this time of year who are navigating grief, but this year I found myself holding more than I could carry.

2025 was a beautiful year, one marked by growth, travel, and wins I worked hard for, but it also carried profound grief. The day before Thanksgiving, my godfather, who helped raise me and had been a second father to me my entire life, passed away. On the day of his funeral, my grandfather was admitted to the hospital as he began treatment.

6 Signs It's Time To Leave 'It' Behind You In 2026

Y’all know what folks tend to do in the hours leading up to a new year — they make New Year’s Resolutions. And while I’m personally not the biggest fan of those (check out “Forget New Year's Resolutions, Try This Instead.”), what I do like to recommend is taking personal inventory to see what you need to hold on to and what you can stand to actually…let go of.

So, let’s get right into it.
