Have you been met with miscommunication, unexpected travel delays, issues with technology, unaccounted-for events - or a general feeling of being overwhelmed lately? Blame it on the retrograde. Mercury retrograde was back in full effect as of mid-November and wreaked the most havoc in the signs Pisces, Sagittarius, Gemini, and Virgo.

Luckily for us, the third and final Mercury retrograde of this year is on its way out as of December 6th, and with its exit, it makes room for the positive vibes from the lovely planet Jupiter to enter. Jupiter will be in its own sign of Sagittarius for the first time in 12 years and it will be influencing all of us in very good ways. Most of us will be ending the year with a bang and setting ourselves up for success in the year to come. Thus, the theme of the month is clarity.

Sagittarius

Laci Jordan for xoNecole

Happy Birthday beautiful! Sagittarius, all the focus during December is on the queen that you are, the queen that you are becoming, and the queen that you will be! 2019 will be your personal power year. How will you create it?

December marks the beginning of a new 12-year growth cycle for you. Your ruling planet of Jupiter creates a strong influence into the world towards the Sagittarian ideals of travel, diplomacy, spirituality, and education. With these ideals being in the 1st house for you during December, you have the ability to help awaken humanity with the seeds that you help plant today.

The summer had brought so much enthusiasm to create new ventures and ideas were flowing. But all of this movement seemed to be for nothing come autumn when you would take one step forward and the Universe made you take two steps back. The misfortunes may have dampened your spirits comes November, making you wonder if you'd ever get your mojo back. But despair not; December brings incredibly good fortune and your natural Sagittarian enthusiasm will return with vim and vigor.

You will be going into a period this month when all of your collective dreams and ideas about who you are will be under your own microscope. This is a wonderful time to dream and create your ideal future. Maybe drag up old photos and mementos from your past and see if you want to reignite some of your old dreams that you left behind. Your lucky ruling planet of Jupiter is going through Sagittarius right now, lending clarity for you and your sister Sag's that is completely on your side. Whatever you choose to plant at this time will take root and you will be seeing results come spring of 2019.

With the Sun, Mercury, and Jupiter creating so much focus on who you are at your core right now, you have a desire to dream up anything you want to create.

Sergio Hudson On Designing With Intention And Who Gets Left Out Of The Industry

Sergio Hudson dreamt big as a young South Carolina boy staring out of the window of his mom’s Volvo driving down the Ridgeway, South Carolina streets. Those dreams led him to design opulent tailoring that’s been worn by Beyoncé, Queen Latifah, former Vice President Kamala Harris and Forever First Lady Michelle Obama, just to name a few.

Those dreams have come full circle in a new way as he recently collaborated with Volvo for a mini capsule collection suitable for chic and stylish moments this fall. The 40-year-old designer follows a long legacy of fashion aficionados who’ve used their innovation to push the automotive industry forward, including Virgil Abloh, Eddie Bauer, Paul Smith and Jeremy Scott.

Why A Solo Trip To Aruba Was The Nervous System Reset I Needed This Winter

Christmas has always been my favorite holiday. I host every year, from intimate dinner parties to holiday movie nights and even bigger holiday parties for my business. I’m also always the person who encourages others this time of year who are navigating grief, but this year I found myself holding more than I could carry.

2025 was a beautiful year, one marked by growth, travel, and wins I worked hard for, but it also carried profound grief. The day before Thanksgiving, my godfather, who helped raise me and had been a second father to me my entire life, passed away. On the day of his funeral, my grandfather was admitted to the hospital as he began treatment.

6 Signs It's Time To Leave 'It' Behind You In 2026

Y’all know what folks tend to do in the hours leading up to a new year — they make New Year’s Resolutions. And while I’m personally not the biggest fan of those (check out “Forget New Year's Resolutions, Try This Instead.”), what I do like to recommend is taking personal inventory to see what you need to hold on to and what you can stand to actually…let go of.

So, let’s get right into it.
