Cardi B On Where She Stands With Offset Today: 'How Do You Stop Talking To Your Best Friend?"

Cardi B opened up about her marital woes with Offset. The “Enough (Miami)” artist recently graced the cover of Rolling Stone, where she talked about motherhood, delaying her new album, and her marriage to the “Clout” rapper. It was revealed that the couple called it quits in December after Cardi said she was single while talking to fans online. But now, it appears they are in a better place. The mother of two told the magazine that they are “all right now.” However, that doesn’t mean that they still don’t have work to do.

"We have our own bad stuff," she said. "We're from two different worlds. Sometimes I cannot be… not that I cannot be a wife. It’s just like, my career takes my life. You know what I’m saying? My career comes first, then my kids come second. And then sometimes I don’t realize that I'm putting so many things before my relationship."

She later admitted, “I sometimes feel like I do probably put my relationship last.” Cardi and Offset have been together since 2017 after collaborating on Cardi’s song “Lick,” which was featured on her Gangsta Bitch Music, Vol. 2 mixtape. Shortly after, they got married in secret, and the “Up” rapper gave birth to their two children, Kulture in 2018 and Wave Set in 2021. After much success with her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, which dropped in 2018, fans have been anticipating her sophomore project. In the meantime, she’s dropped successful singles like “WAP” and “Up.”

“I remember last year when we was going through our hard time. And it’s like, ‘Put your album out. You’re overstressing. When was the last time we went on a vacation?’” she said, recalling what Offset told her. “And it’s like, ‘I don’t got time to go on a vacation, because this comes first.’ This comes first, and then my kids come second. The little things I have to take care of then comes.”

As far as what the future holds for the talented couple, Cardi seems hopeful. They’ve been spotted out together recently at a few events, and he gifted her with large bouquets of flowers and three diamond chains for Mother’s Day.

"I think it through. We think it through, because we do love each other,” she said. “It's not even about love. We’re best friends. And it's like, 'OK. Well, there was a time that I didn’t have a best friend, or I didn’t have a support system.' It's not even about 'How do you leave a partner?' How do you stop talking to your best friend?"
