Last week, the British Fashion Awards were held in London and Tracee Ellis Ross was out here looking like a whole salad; because she be dressing, damn it. This year, Tracee hosted the BFA's and proved once again that she's not new to this elevated style shit, she's true to it. Growing up as the daughter of Diana Ross, Tracee learned early-on what it truly means to live on the fly. In a previous interview, she explained:

"There were beautiful things everywhere, but there was a sense of taking care of and cherishing beauty. And also of not taking things too seriously. You could be climbing all over my mom's head while she'd be sitting in an interview, putting your handprints on everything."

As Motown royalty, it's only right that she inherited Queen Diana's eye for style, but according to Tracee, her passion for fashion first began as a defense mechanism. In a recent interview with CNN, Tracee explained:

"For me, fashion started as a way to protect myself — to have a bit of control over how the world perceives me. And I think, for many, that's still the case. I think fashion has evolved for me personally into a form of creative expression."

While we stan a cutely covered queen, Tracee says that her wardrobe isn't for the paparazzi. For her, fashion is a way to express the joy and self-love that she had on the inside, outwardly. She told British Vogue:

"I'm partnered with a joyous stylist, Karla Welch. When I have an event coming up, I'll send her inspiration pictures or we'll come up with a theme, but mostly I just wear what makes my heart sing."

Tracee and her stylist, Karla, are known for hitting us with the heat every damn time she hits the red carpet, but the truth is, sis is fly AF everywhere she goes.

December is about letting go. We end the year with the need for more peace, reflection, and rejuvenation, and that is exactly what December is providing for us. The Sun is in Sagittarius, and anything is possible. This is the month to believe in that and to know that the universe is supporting you. With a Supermoon in Gemini as we begin the month as well, we have an opportunity to gain the closure we have been looking for this year and to wrap up old projects, ideas, and communication breakthroughs.

This is the month to make your peace the priority and let go of trying to control the way the tides are turning. Trust in your new beginning, and give yourself time to prepare for it this month.

You're Over Him. Should You Wait Until After The Holidays To Say It?

When a client told me that she was seriously considering ending her relationship of 10 months before Christmas, I wasn’t surprised. That’s not a sneak diss on what she has going on with her man or anything; it’s just that I know that the holiday season (the month of December, more specifically) is a very popular time for folks to call things off. Between the pressure of bringing people around family and the urge to start off the new year with a clean slate — yeah, it makes sense.

At the same time, though, I do think that there is something to be said for ending things well — and when it comes to a break-up? During this time of the year? Before you make that official move, I just want to make sure that you’ve thought a few things through.
