Vivica A. Fox kicked off the new year just right with a solo vacation. The veteran actress visited The Real to dish on her booked and busy career, but during the conversation, she also revealed that she “took a 10-day vacation all by myself.” After spending Thanksgiving with her family in Indianapolis and Christmas with her godchildren, the Two Can Play That Game star jetted off to somewhere tropical for some me-time.

“Last year I was so busy. I was busy and blessed and I just had to shut down,” she said. “I had no more energy left for anyone. I literally was like, ‘Everybody, back up.’ I needed to do it for Vivica.”

Being a well-known working actress since the ‘90s, Vivica admitted that she has never taken time for herself in this way before.

“I’ve never done that before. I went to the [Caribbean] Islands and just kind of sat back, laid in the sun, and thanked God for another year,” she said.

“But to not answer the phone — my family got on my nerves more than anybody else. ‘Cause they kept hitting me! ‘Hey!’ Didn’t I tell you I was on vacation!? They were like, ‘Oh ok! Alright! Ok. Alright.'”

It appears she didn’t take any pictures either as she hasn’t posted any photos on her social media from her personal getaway.

But while the Cocktails with Queens host may have kept all the tropical fun to herself, others have opted to share with their fans their luxurious trips.

If you’re looking to go on a solo vacation, these celebs’ photos may give you some motivation.

Hawai’i

Gabrielle Union and her family went to Maui in Hawai’i and the actress shared many envious photos of herself soaking up the sun and admiring all the island has to offer including a beautiful waterfall.

Kenya

If it’s one thing Ashanti is gonna do, she is gonna go on vacation. Over the last few years, we have seen the “Baby” singer frequent some vacation hot spots and in this photo, the singer visited Nairobi, Kenya.

Bahamas

The Harveys know how to vacation in a big way. For Steve Harvey’s birthday, the family went to the Bahamas and Marjorie shared many photos of them enjoying the crystal blue waters.

France

Just because Paris is known as the city of love doesn’t mean you can’t go by yourself (and possibly have a rendezvous with a handsome stranger). Christina Milian visited the romantic city and struck a pose in front of the Louvre Museum, which is one of Paris’ popular tourist spots.

For many Black women, getting a relaxer was a rite of passage, an inheritance passed down from the generation before us, and perhaps even before her. It marked the transition from Black girlhood to adolescence. Tight coils, twisted plaits, and the clickety-clack of barrettes were traded for chemical perms and the familiar sting of scalp burns.

What Loving Yourself Actually Looks Like

Whitney said it, right? She told us that if we simply learned to love ourselves, what would ultimately happen is, we would achieve the "Greatest Love of All." But y'all, the more time I spend on this planet, the more I come to see that one of the reasons why it's so hard to hit the mark, when it comes to all things love-related, is because you first have to define love in order to know how to do it…right and well.

Personally, I am a Bible follower, so The Love Chapter is certainly a great reference point. Let's go with the Message Version of it today:
