The Best Beauty Products That Will Help You Beat The Heat
It's safe to say the heat is taking a toll on the environment, our comfort, and our makeup routines. For the last three months, I had to shelve my full coverage foundation, mascara, and even lipstick because it just felt like it was melting off of my face as soon as I walked out the door.

With some trial and error, I've found a few complexion, lip, and eye products that feel light on my face while evening out my skin tone and masking my hyperpigmentation and making me feel #hotgirlsummer-ready.

Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner
Amazon
This isn't makeup, but the toner does help prep the skin for application. Some people can take or leave them, but this witch hazel has become my holy grail. It helps prep my skin in the morning and gets all of the grime of the day off at night.
Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector
Nordstrom
I was introduced to Becca's primer by a makeup artist. I'd given up on primer because I could never find one that didn't feel weird on my skin or that did what it said it could do. Well, Becca proved me wrong as the matte primer kept that shine away all day. I am not exaggerating.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
Macy's
There's a reason Nars Creamy Concealer is highly rated. The concealer comes in a tube-like package with a sponge applicator that makes over-applying hard to do. A little goes a long way with this product, and the coverage lasts all day.
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 Sunscreen
Macy's
Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer will always be a high temperature must-have because of its SPF protection and light-weight coverage. This is another product that you should take time to apply because you don't need much to get a fresh-faced finish with good coverage.
Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF 15
Macy's
If wearing only concealer and a tinted moisturizer leaves you feeling naked, Bobbi Brown's waterproof, oil-free weightless foundation is my recommendation. The foundation offers buildable, medium to full coverage without feeling cakey. Bobbi recommends applying with a sponge and pressing the foundation lightly into the skin to get a natural, flawless finish.
L'Oréal True Match Super Blendable Foundation
Amazon
I have always had a complicated relationship with drugstore foundations because finding a color match was impossible, but L'Oréal True Match is a foundation that never disappointed. The oil-free, non-comedogenic formula gives nice coverage without feeling too heavy.
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder Glow
Macy's
Laura Mercier does skin-like makeup products better than anyone. If you haven't given this powder a try, you should. It's light, pigmented, and absorbs oil and you won't have to repurchase for a while because it lasts forever.
CoverGirl LashBlast Volume Waterproof Mascara
Amazon
I've been using LashBlast since I was a teenager and it has been a staple in my bag ever since. Whether you're dancing at a festival, crying at your best friend's wedding, or kickin' it at a family barbecue, this mascara will make your lashes look great without leaving any dark residue under your eyes.
Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer
Fenty Beauty
I gave the Fenty Beauty Shimmering Rose Nude Gloss Bomb a try for the first time in New Orleans, and I now understand the hype. Not only did the gloss hydrate my lips, but it gave them a natural, put-together look that I didn't have to worry about reapplying.

Rihanna Talks Shedding Expectations And Finding Balance As A Mother
Since becoming a mother in 2022, Rihanna has defined parenthood by her terms and hopes to pass that sense of autonomy on to her children.
For Vogue China’s April cover story, Rihanna shared her perspective on raising her two sons with A$AP Rocky, and how she hopes to preserve her children’s uniqueness, devoid of societal expectations.
"The most beautiful thing...is that [children] come into the world with their own individuality and sincerity, without any logic or conformity,” she told the publication. “Which usually makes you feel that you must fit into a certain group."
The “Work” artist, known for her trendsetting style and captivating persona, expressed her desire to support children in fully embracing their individuality and encouraging them to be whoever they want to be. "It's really beautiful to see and I want to continue to help them navigate that and make sure that they know they can be whoever they want to be,” she says.
She continues, “They should embrace it completely, because it's beautiful, and it's unique. I love them just that way."
From shattering music charts to shaking up the beauty industry, Rihanna has forged a path that has since created the “dream” life we see today. One that she says has made her parents proud of.
“I’m living my dream,” she continued. “My parents were very proud of that because they just wanted me to be happy and successful. So, I think the key thing is to find some kind of balance. Yes, balance is important. Do this and you get the best of both worlds. You can write your own life the way you want, and it will be beautiful. Sometimes, you just need to let go of everyone’s expectations and start living your own story.”
Rihanna, who shares sons, RZA, 23 months, and Riot, 8 months, with rapper A$AP Rocky, recently shared her vision for expanding her family in the future in Interview Magazine.
When stylist Mel Ottenberg asked about the number of additional children she hoped to have, Rihanna replied, "As many as God wants me to have.”
"I don't know what God wants, but I would go for more than two. I would try for my girl,” she adds. “But of course, if it's another boy, it's another boy."
