Alex Belle and Isis Valentino make up the dynamic power duo that is St. Beauty Band. The Atlanta natives have been creating magic together since 2012 and have creatively been a part of the larger collective masterminded by Janelle Monae, Wondaland Art Society. Known for dazzling listeners with their sounds on singles like "Going Nowhere" and with their latest EP Running to the Sun, St. Beauty are driven to heal and inspire.

Even in choosing the name of their group, St. Beauty, they were energized by the pure beauty that lives in everyone.

With the ideals of beauty changing due to the growing prominence of goddesses of color, we can't help but wonder what some of the beautiful creatives' favorite beauty finds. We had the amazing opportunity to chat with Alex and Isis, check out the tea below!

Their Favorite Foundations & Primers

Alex: I don't use primers, but my favorite concealer is the Bare Minerals Concealer Stick. And I love the Lancôme foundation right now.

Isis: I really like the Fenty foundation. One pump is perfect for me and I also love the Bare Minerals Pressed Powdered Foundation.

Their Favorite Go-To Look

Look Fantastic

Alex: I don't like to over-indulge when it comes to applying make-up. I can achieve the all-natural makeup look under 30 minutes.

Isis: A natural face has always been my thing. A nice glow around my eyes, a thick brow, conceal under the eye and the blemishes, and brush the Bare Mineral powder on my face, and a little mascara.

Their Definition of Beauty

A post shared by St.Beauty (@stbeautyband) on

Alex: Confidence and having a good heart makes a woman beautiful in my opinion. You can be the most beautiful woman in the world, but if you're not confident or kind-hearted, you'll ultimately be turned inside-out and your true colors will show. It all starts within.

Isis: I believe a humble confidence makes a woman beautiful. There's an inner beauty in all of us. We have to choose to access it.

Their Favorite Beauty Items

Alex: I have to have my Laura Mercier powder, Bare Minerals concealer stick, and a good eyebrow pencil.

Isis: Face oil, lip gloss and concealer.

Their Self-Care Rituals for Beautiful Skin

A post shared by Scratch Goods (@scratchgoods) on

Alex: I have to exfoliate with cold water and spray rose water with glycerin on my face afterwards. I was also recently informed about primrose evening oil tablets and they've been keeping my skin clear on tour. I also like to steam my face with tea tree oil, burn incense, and drink a big cup of hot tea every morning and night.

Isis: Making sure I'm not stressed first (laughs). But I use African black soap as a face wash. I also saw a night oil recipe from The Naked Beauty Planet that has helped my skin. I mixed evening primrose oil, moringa oil, sea buckthorn oil, and I added grapeseed oil, rosehip oil and Neem oil all together and I take about four drops from the dropper and press on my skin before I go to sleep. During the day, I use a daily face oil with sunscreen from Scratch Goods. And lastly, I use a green tea clay 2-3 times a week by Scratch Goods.

For many Black women, getting a relaxer was a rite of passage, an inheritance passed down from the generation before us, and perhaps even before her.
