Not Using Sex Wipes? 6 Reasons Why You Should Absolutely Consider It.

When you’re in the line of work that I’m in, there is absolutely no telling what topics will randomly come up or what conversations you will find yourself getting too grossly involved in. Take one of my favorite couples who decided to share with me how much they enjoy having oral sex in random locations.

When I asked them how they got around the umm, potential gook that may have crept up and in since they last took a shower (just sayin’), the husband quickly said, “Girl, that’s what you keep baby wipes in the glove compartment for!”

And well, you can thank him and his lil’ oral sex hack for why I decided that wipes — sex wipes, that is — should get more attention than they typically do. Because while baby wipes can certainly get the job done whenever you’re in a clutch, there are actually wipes that are specifically designed to make sexual intimacy cleaner, easier, and more convenient — if spontaneity is indeed your thing.,

And just what makes sex wipes (some people call them “intimacy wipes,” by the way) so awesome?

1. Sex Wipes Are Specifically Made for Your Genital Region

When it comes to what makes baby wipes different from sex wipes (or even feminine wipes), the first thing to keep in mind is the word that comes before each “wipe” word. What I mean is, baby wipes are specifically designed for a baby’s skin while sex wipes are for adults. That said, both have brands that are chemical-free (you can read more about certain baby wipes that fit that bill here); however, since we’re talking about sex wipes today, let’s discuss what ingredients you should look for — and avoid — when it comes to those.

Ones that contain Aloe vera, tea tree oil and hyaluronic acid are great because they help to soothe your skin and fight bacteria at the same time. Also, avoid any sex wipes that contain alcohol (which can dry out and/or irritate your labia), glycerin (it can throw your pH balance off), petroleum (bacteria thrives in it) or parabens (they can affect the natural balance of your hormones). Oh, and as far as the material that the wipes are made out of, organic cotton is always a sure shot. It’s gentle on your genital region.

2. Sex Wipes Can Help You to Feel Clean and Fresh

If it’s not sperm or semen (from raw sex), it’s lube (check out “The Wetter, The Better: 10 Creative Ways To Use Lubricant”). If it’s not lubricant from a tube, it’s natural wetness. If it’s not that, it’s sweat. Bottom line here is, if the sex is good (and/or longer than a couple of minutes), there’s gonna be a bit of messiness going on — and if you’re not anywhere close to a shower or tub at the time, sex wipes can help to clean the “moisture” right on up! It can also help you to feel pretty clean and fresh…at least for the time being…until you can get into some water…for real.

3. Sex Wipes Make Spontaneous Sex Easier

Yeah, I pretty much touched on this in the intro. LOL. However, after reading that many women thoroughly enjoy having sex in public (by the way, did you know that Alaska currently has the most sex while Colorado currently has the least in the US?!), I had to amplify the fact that if you happen to prefer anywhere but the bed (or your house, for that matter), you definitely need to have some sex wipes in tow. My friend in the intro addressed why…and I think all that’s needed is an “enough said” on this one.

4. Sex Wipes Are Great for Sex Toys

Are you ready to throw up in your mouth a little bit (probably not but…)? Did you know that, reportedly, 33 percent of people have admitted to never cleaning their sex toys? WHAT IN THE WORLD?! Just like you should wipe from front to back to keep bacteria where it belongs, you should look at washing your sex toys in a similar fashion because, if toys are moving around from different holes, that too is spreading bacteria all over the place.

So, if your “wherever sex” comes complete with a vibrator or something else, wipe that bad boy off when you’re done (and still clean it thoroughly when you get a chance as well).

Sex Wipes Can Soothe Irritated Skin

During intercourse, there can be a lot of friction going on and sometimes that can lead to post-coital irritation. Although the more lubricated you are, the less of an issue this tends to be (which is why a lot of foreplay prior to sex can be hella beneficial), if a romp has led to tender skin, sex wipes can immediately soothe your sensitive skin — which is always a win.

Sex Wipes Are (Pretty) Affordable and Convenient

After checking out some some sex wipes that come highly reviewed (like these here, here, here, here and here), I definitely need to shout-out the fact that for what you get — wipes that are great for your vaginal skin that are flushable and biodegradable too — for the price point (about 20 bucks per package), I would say that they are well worth the investment.

BONUS: Ever Heard of Premature Ejaculation Wipes?

Giphy

Okay, so while I was in the process of looking up sex wipes that should be recommended, I noticed a brand for men called Last Longer — and it helps to treat premature ejaculation. That piqued my curiosity and so I did a bit of deep diving and discovered that there is something known as benzocaine wipes that help to reduce men’s (penile-related) sensitivity, so that they don’t cum as quickly.

The way it works is it temporarily numbs the penile skin which can reportedly help a man to not climax by as much as almost six minutes — and well, since most people prefer sex to last between 7-13 minutes, it might be something to pick up…if that is something that your partner is prone to.

____

Aight y’all — so if having more random sex in crazy places is on your sex-themed bucket list and yet you are low-key a germaphobe, sex wipes may be just what you didn’t know that you needed.

Merry Christmas. LOL.
