Beauty & Fashion
The glory is in our melanin, right?
As such, I went on the hunt for black-owned skincare products and found a ton of amazing goodies you didn't even know your skin's been craving.
Here's my compiled list of faves:
Beauty by Africa Miranda
Beauty by Africa Miranda is known for its two in one facial elixir. Made of Maracuja oil, Cupuacu Butter, and other skin nourishing ingredients, this elixir is great for giving your face the glow it deserves. This product also doubles as a makeup remover, an added benefit we can all appreciate.
▲SkinButtr
SkinButtr carries a full facial set inclusive of a cleanser, exfoliator, toner, moisturizer, and mask, which are all great for your daily skincare regimen. But more than that, SkinButtr specializes in unique body scrubs for all of your skin needs.
Each scrub is especially designed to assist with various areas of concern such as hyper-pigmentation, dryness, natural lightening, and more. Check out the cocoa vanilla coffee scrub if you're on a quest to reduce cellulite and stretch marks. It's also great for dry skin and eczema.
▲XoXo Sugar Cosmetics
After a relaxing shower, give your body the tantalizing treat of Bomb Body Mousse. The whipped texture of this smooth body moisturizer looks yummy enough to eat. Your skin will thank you for the decadent mix of shea butter, extra virgin coconut oil, and arrowroot powder.
▲Kaike
Smooth and repair skin with Kaike's Marshmallow Mask + Scrub. This hydrating mask is perfect for dry and sensitive skin. Use it to repair, cleanse, and exfoliate. Make it a mask or a scrub, either way, this vegan and cruelty-free product is a great addition to your weekly skincare routine.
▲True Moringa
Boston Magazine
Reverse the signs of aging with True Moringa's Eternal Youth Facial + Body Soap. You'll feel good about your skin and even better about helping an amazing cause. True Moringa partners with a network of 2,500 smallholder farmers throughout Ghana, providing a host of business resources and opportunities.
▲Queendom Aesthetics
Get rid of acne, eczema, and dermatitis by incorporating peppermint rose toner by Quendom Aesthetics into your skincare routine. This pretty product tightens and tones skin while also acting as a cleaning agent for removing makeup and other impurities.
▲Bevel
Feeling generous? Put your boo, brother, or dad on the Bevel Shaving System. The kit comes equipped with 60 blades, priming oil, shave cream, and restoring bomb for a clean shave your special guy can appreciate. This subscription service will automatically send out refill kits for a monthly fee.
▲Jade & Fox Co.
Jade & Fox Co.
And last, but certainly not least, Jade & Fox Co. is a black-owned handmade, cruelty-free, 100% vegetarian line of skincare and beauty products. Their product line ranges from frangrances to shower products, and hair to skincare essentials. They are perhaps best known for their highly coveted facial packages, like the Liquid Gold package and the Sky Walker package, that's been known to sell out with the quickness.
If you're in the mood to embrace your inner sun and moon goddesses, get lost and found in their online shop.
