B.Simone is showing fans what the true definition of a sister really means. The influencer who is known for her comedic videos on social media showed a more vulnerable side to her fans when she chopped off her hair in a recent Instagram video. The Texas native sat alongside her sister Jordyn and opened up about the decision to cut her hair after Jordyn cut hers.
With Jordyn already visibly emotional, B.Simone revealed that her sister was dealing with Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW) for a year and that it affects her skin. Some of the symptoms include dry and cracked skin, and in Jordyn’s case, her hands are so dry and raw that she has to wear gloves in order to feel more comfortable.
Because of her health complications, Jordyn also had to quit her job and now lives between B.Simone, who is in Atlanta, and their grandmother in Dallas. The illness also affected her to the point where she ended up chopping all her hair off to feel “more comfortable” and B.Simone felt that she should do the same.
“When she sent me the video of her cutting her hair, I knew that moment in my spirit, it told me to do it with her,” B.Simone explained.
Before cutting her hair with a pair of shears, she tells her sister that she loves her, and then she proceeds to cut her hair. Both B.Simone and Jordyn began crying as the comedian continued to cut her hair and she reiterated how much she loves her sister and that “it’s just hair” and “it will grow back.”
B.Simone wrote a touching, lengthy caption for the tearful video that once again proved their sisterly bond. “I did the big chop in the name of love ❤️ I love you baby @jordyngenevie and as long as I’m living you’ll never go through anything alone,” she wrote.
She continued, “She had to cut her hair because she physically couldn’t take care of it anymore. My sister loved her hair and I hate that she had to cut it off but there’s so much healing in this. Jordyn, I can’t physically go through TSW with you but we can start this beautiful healing journey together.”
She also wrote that she was “proud” of Jordyn and thanked her for giving her the courage to cut her hair.
The end result of both of them cutting their hair was equally beautiful. Jordyn shared an image of them together with their stylish chopped manes. Jordyn is rocking a red short ‘do, while B.Simone opted for a blonde cut.
