What To Wear On A First Date

Style

Finding an outfit for a first date can be almost as nerve-wrecking as choosing an outfit for the first day of school.

First dates already come with a slew of worries, and your outfit should not be one of them. As a single girl myself, I want to acknowledge that dating is complicated all by itself. From finding the right date, time, and location, there are some stressors you want to avoid. Even style gurus struggle with the goal to dress to impress.

One of the most important rules to this game is giving yourself plenty of time to plan out what you're wearing. While you want to appear like you "just threw something on," you have to put time and effort into choosing your look.

Try to avoid these things when preparing for that first date:

  1. Wearing something that makes you feel like you have to suck it in
  2. Bearing it all – save something for the imagination
  3. Dressing for the wrong type of date
  4. Looking unapproachable
  5. Wearing too much makeup

You must look and feel like your best self. Flip through our slideshow to take some cues for your next date.

For the concert date...

Skinny jeans + graphic tees are always a great choice for a first date. It shows that you have a fun personality and you are down for whatever. This look is both classic and edgy – black with a splash of red for the win.
