Can you believe that it's been 12 years since Barbershop 2: Back in Business?
Well believe it, because the crew is back in theaters with the next installment of the series, Barbershop 3: The Next Cut.
This time around, Calvin (Ice Cube) and his wife Angie (Regina Hall) have combined their shops into a place where men and women can get their hair done. This definitely changes things up a bit in the shop.
But Calvin and Angie has bigger trouble ahead, as the shop is located in a neighborhood with increasing gang violence. Both sides have to come together to find a way to tackle crime in their neighborhood, while keeping their teen son from being a victim of the streets.
If you think that's interesting, the new faces in the film should also get you a little excited. Common, who plays Eve's husband, shows interest in Nicki Minaj's character. Let's just say Nicki's character has a #BlackAmex she doesn't leave home without.
You also have Deon Cole, JB Smoove, Lamorne Harris, Tyga, Sean Patrick Thomas and Cedric the Entertainer on the cast too.
According to FILM blogger Ethan Anderson, there's a great directing and writing team behind the film,
Barbershop 3: The Next Cut is directed by Malcolm D. Lee (The Best Man Holiday, Scary Movie 5, Soul Men) with a script from Black-ish series creator Kenya Barris (who also wrote on The Game and the Are We There Yet? TV series) and Tracy Oliver.
The movie hits theaters April 15, 2016, so you have plenty of time to find a babysitter, or plan around your paycheck. Until then, check out the trailer below.
