Remember when J.Cole kept his 2 year promise and attended a fan's high school graduation? Well, now she is taking a piece of Cole to college (sort of!)
Last week, Washington Township High School graduate Cierra Bosarge was the world's happiest and proudest fan after J.Cole kept good on a promise he made to her back in 2013. Back then, she sent a letter to J. Cole via Twitter and he not only read it, but promised her that if she received good grades in school and was accepted to a four-year university, that he'd attend her graduation.
2 years, a few collage acceptances and one high school diploma later, the rapper showed up to Cierra's graduation, even rearranging his tour dates around the special occasion.
A St. John's graduate himself, not only did Cole show up, but he made sure to stay and give Cierra some advice, while also gifting her with a few of his favorite books to read.
[J.Cole] bought me a few books that he likes and said he’s gonna help me with my college tuition.
Now, Cierra has decided to not only remember and keep the moment in the most sacred part of her memory, but also ink the special encounter with the help of a tattoo. Last night Cierra uploaded a photo of a tattoo inspired by J.Cole's handwriting, with the words 'I am proud of you.'
After my graduation after I talked to Cole and I was on the bus going to project graduation, I was thinking about the speech Cole gave me and how I didn’t remember him saying he was proud of me. That’s all I wanted to hear.
Then I remember with the bag of books he gave me was a little journal and it had a letter in. In the letter he wrote these exact words. This is his handwriting:
This means so much to me. The man I look up to the most in this world said the words we all want someone special to say to us one day. “I am proud of you."
They always say if you're going to get a tattoo, make sure you get something meaningful that you won't regret later.
Safe to say, this definitely falls into that category!
A huge kudos to J. Cole and the many artists who continue to inspire and motivate their fans!
