Baby, it's a big mama thing!
Nearly a decade after her first reality show, Countdown To Lockdown, Queen B Lil Kim has been stung by the reality TV bug again as the pint-sized rapper just announced her comeback to the small screen.
Yesterday, the 40-year-old rapper threw out a trailer for a yet untitled project that didn't tell us much in terms of release date. Erroneously billing herself as the "Black Kardashian" in the trailer, Kim educates today's rap fans on just how relevant she was back in the her heyday.
The once-heralded Queen of Rap highlighted her relationship with mogul and longtime friend Diddy, revealing that he once copped her a full length chinchilla coat that someone ended up stealing. The trailer also features shots of her kicking it with rapper Fabolous, and Wyclef, who she says bought her a BMW back in the day. As a fashion icon, Kim reminds us that being flown out by legendary designers such as Alexander McQueen and Marc Jacobs for fashion shows in Paris and Milan is on her "been there, done that" list.
While all that is fine and dandy, we're hoping to see what Kim's been up to now. In the past couple of years, she's become a mother, she appeared on Dancing With The Stars, and she released a mixtape with a few spot dates here and there in support of the project. She also linked with a vodka company and had plans to release a book, "The Price of Loyalty."
Here are six things we're hoping to see on the new show! *crosses fingers*
Queen Bee gave birth to a baby bee named Royal Reign in June 2014. While we've seen a few adorable snaps on her Instagram, we would love to see Kim being a doting mom to her munchkin while also tackling difficulties that come with being a working mother.
2. Squashing Old Beefs
If Jay Z and Nas can end their disputes and be friends, then why not Lil Kim and Foxy Brown? These two former friends missed out on decades of possibly amazing collaborative efforts over something they probably don't even remember anymore. Just imagine how huge it would be to see both these iconic rap legends, do some maturing and let bygones be bygones? Shoot, let's throw Nicki Minaj's name in there while we're at it. U-N-I-T-Y!
3. Her Recording Process
Next year marks the 20th anniversary of her groundbreaking Hard Core album. It would be such a treat to take fans inside the studio for a peek of what she's working on next and get a glimpse into her recording process 20 years later.
