Update: Remy Ma was released this afternoon around 3pm.
It looks like Remy Ma's several years in prison haven't taught her a thing or two about keeping her hands to herself. After spending seven years in the big house for the 2007 shooting of a friend, the former Terror Squad rapper was scheduled to be a free woman yesterday, but was denied her freedom for allegedly fighting.
Family and friends were left disappointed when they arrived at the correctional facility and were ultimately told that Remy wasn't coming home with no reason given.
So what happened?
According to All Hip Hop, she got into a physical altercation with a fellow inmate on July 21. The fight resulted in the rapper being thrown in solitary confinement for what was supposed to be her last week in prison.
Another source says her Angie Martinez interview on July 21st may have something to do with her delayed released as well.
A public information officer for the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision told MTV that Remy violated the prison's "third party calling" rules by doing the interview. They say she may have used one of her permitted 15 numbers to be patched through to Angie. Basically, a three-way call.
At this point, there's no word when Remy may finally be released, which definitely sucks for her fans.
