Hi, my name is Bianca, and I am addicted to beauty products. If you can relate to this statement, you're going to enjoy this write up. But before you continue reading, I want to make sure your beauty piggy bank is full and ready to be cracked open. Okay, this intro is a bit dramatic, but with all of the August releases (including one from makeup queen Jackie Aina), your coin will be tested.
Okay, still a little dramatic, but y'all get my drift.
This month, there are foundation releases, epic collaborations, and even a new spin on a classic. Here are 10 beauty releases to get excited about this month!
Anastasia Beverly Hills x Jackie Ania
I have a confession to make. I've never used an ABH product. I know many of you swear by Dipbrow, but since I'm a girl that allows my brows do whatever they want, I've never given it a try. Now that the brand is releasing a collaboration with one of my favorite people in beauty, "Jackie, Jackie, Jackie, Jackie," they have a new customer. Jackie Aina made a palette with us chocolate ladies in mind and based on her latest YouTube tutorial, it's going to be a palette where we can use every color.
Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer is a part of my daily routine. The moisturizer evens out my skin tone, provides protection from UVA rays, and above all else — it doesn't break me out. So, when I saw that they added a new formula with additional color ranges, I was intrigued. Before this release, I could only choose between Walnut and Mocha, but now there are six shades for those of us with deeper skin tones to choose from.
This collaboration was right on time with the release of Dear White People coming back to Netflix for season 3 (which didn't disappoint). Ashley created a Season 1 Collection and Season 2 Collection highlight and bronzing duo along with two shimmer glosses that will make nice additions to your makeup bag.
Leave it to Fenty to hear from its loyal customers and release a new product many have asked for — a hydrating foundation. If you've used Fenty's Pro Filt'r matte formula, you know that when they say it dries down matte, they mean it. As someone with oily skin, the formula has become one of my go to's, but if your skin is on the drier side, I can see why it might not work for you. Well, you don't have to wait much longer for their 50 shade hydrating foundation since it hits stores on August 15th.
Nars 72-Shade Lipstick Collection
Just in time for their 25th anniversary, Nars is releasing at 72-shade lipstick collection filled with bright matte colors like Ravishing Red to nudes with sheer finishes like Fast Ride.
You may be familiar with Dose of Colors' eyeshadow palettes or lip matte lipsticks, but they're entering the complexion arena with their new 42-shade foundation collection. The foundation is buildable and stays put even on a 91 degree, move-in day in Los Angeles.
Beauty Bakerie is known for its matte lip whips, but they're adding a creamy formula to the mix that will still give you the pigmentation you seek, along with hydration.
Award-winning celebrity hairstylist Vernon Francois' (Serena Williams, Amandla Stenberg, or Lupita Nyong'o) line made with coils of all textures in mind is now available at Sally's. Francois has thoughtfully created a line that speaks to our hair types with a specialized approach we don't always see in the haircare aisle.
Having a solid skincare routine takes a lot of trial and error, even when you've been using a particular method for a while. My skin has needed a product switch up because my breakouts were taking over, and this water-based salicylic acid cleanser helped me get my skin back on track without stripping it of its moisture.
Speaking of breakouts, Dr. Pimple Popper's acne-fighting products have made it to Target, and the line's roll-on Salicylic Acid Spot Treatment is already off to stellar reviews.
