LisaRaye is on a spiritual journey!
Just a few years ago, the 46-year-old's relationship turmoil with Michael Misick made headlines, but now she's moved on, strengthened her relationship with God, and has vowed to live a life of purpose.
Last week, she was baptized at her home by One Church Los Angeles pastor Touré Roberts. In video footage posted to her Instagram account, LisaRaye cried as he told her how much he appreciated her and could see how she's made a change for the better.
“LisaRaye, I’m so excited. When I see you, I see purpose. You’ve been praising and doing amazing things at the church and through the church at the artist’s resource center. Blessing people. And I just think God is getting ready to take you to a whole other level.”
In the caption, LisaRaye revealed that she wanted to share her baptism with the public as a source of encouragement:
Soooo I'd like to share this: Tues evening at my home I celebrated w/ my friends and family getting Baptised by my @onechurchla pastor @toureroberts and it was amazing. I was so full and now wanting to serve you w/some encouragement to believe, conquer & receive Peace and blessings. #faith #truth #liferocks ASK, BELIEVE, RECEIVE. .....
Last year, LisaRaye sat down with CocoaFab and revealed that she's in a new place in her life and had decided to take a vow of celibacy:
I’m in a new place. I’ve tried everything but celibacy, and I really want to know what it feels like to be touched by someone with a mental touch and not a physical touch. I want to know what it is to build the foundation of the friendship for real, to have my best friend and not because we’re just intimate, but because we’re mentally intimate. So I’m waiting for that person to come into my life. And when I get myself together, I know God is gonna bless me with that, because I don’t want to come with extra baggage. I’ll come with some, but it’s not fair to him to come with a whole bunch.
She also shared with the Humor Mill:
I think sometimes as an actress we have an opportunity to tell people what we want and to show people what we want and sometimes it gets misconstrued … But right now my life is on a spiritual journey that I'm just so excited about [and] that empowers me everyday.
Now my life is more about serving others, about helping others [and] about reaching out and sharing my experiences with someone else that has gone through the same things ...It's about bridging that gap... Just being a part of something that I feel will be a part of my legacy.
Congrats to LisaRaye on her new journey!
