Danity Kane's "Lemonade" has definitely turned sour.
Hopes of a new album from the trio went up in flames last week after it was reported that the girls had a fight at the studio with resulted in Dawn Richard punching Aubrey O'Day. Days later, Shannon and Aubrey released a statement blaming Dawn's "dark side" and her resorting to violence for the group's split.
Now it's Dawn who's ready to tell her side.
In a statement posted to her Facebook this weekend, she wrote:
I am sorry to everyone that this news has to come out. You’re worth more. Certain choices were made that I am not proud of. However, I will not be disrespected. Once again, I am sorry to the fans as this should have been handled privately not publicly. I continued to work with both parties to try to release the album even when the original story was leaked without anyone being consulted. I have been unable to release my statement via Danity Kane social media because my access to all Danity Kane social media pages has been blocked by DK members. This forces me to make my statement on my personal page. This could have all been handled privately; however, certain parties chose to make this public before it could be rectified. I am not justifying my actions. I am saying this was all done before any changes or conversations could even be had.
Dawn also linked a story on TMZ, which basically detailed things from her point of view. Dawn allegedly found out that Shannon and Aubrey were recording music and orchestrating business involving the group behind her back, so she showed up to a studio session that the two were having on Monday to confront them and that's when things got ugly.
This is the type of drama that even Diddy and MTV couldn't make up.
Sidebar: It's big of Dawn to want to still release their album for the fans despite the everything that has happened, but let's be real, how in the world were they going to finish it and promote it after this huge fight? Some things you just have to let go.
It's hard to see it for girl groups in this day and age.
