Black Twitter Is Showing Love To Their Parents And We Love To See It

In, walks "My Parents, Their Creation", a social media trend where people show big love to their parents.

Culture & Entertainment

Black Twitter is literally one of the best places on this planet. In fact, when we were all initially trapped in the house and forced to quarantine, it was one of the only places we knew we could count on for relief. It's filled with encouragement, tips, and its infamously comedic gems. It's a place for America to come steal their best content ideas, and where all the trends are traced back to. You will laugh, you will screenshot. It's for us, and by us, exclusive to who we are as a culture, and honestly, a tribute to how we are able to see our way through anything.

Viral commodities are a dime a dozen in this sphere, with one of the latest capturing our hearts in the process. In, walks "My Parents, Their Creation", a social media trend where people show big love to their parents, while showing off a pic of themselves for resemblance comparison. This trend shows recognition to nostalgic black love that created who we are.

And the world wide web is loving it.

Some showed off their fine parents:

Others showed off a generational love:

A few displayed black love back in the day:

While others had classic wedding pics:

And vacation pics too:

But mostly, everyone showed off EXACTLY which parent they look like:

So far, the trend has amassed thousands of examples of what our parents' love looked like back in the day, with no plans of slowing down. And we love seeing them all!

(Pssst! And we want to see yours too!)

This commonly used practice is known as a spiritual bath within the mystical community.

Black women emcees have been an essential part of sculpting hip-hop music since the late '70s. The genre has grown from the streets of New York City to becoming one of the world's most influential in the world. Though hip-hop is still a very male-dominated industry, women have made their way of snatching the sound and owning their place in the industry.

While tea is the kind of drink that those of us who are tea lovers typically consume all throughout the year, I'm pretty sure I'm not alone when I say that there is nothing like looking out of the window on a chilly day while it's raining, curling up under a favorite throw blanket and sipping on a warm cup of herbal tea while reading a book or watching a favorite throwback movie. What's so dope about herbal tea is, aside from it tasting pretty good (especially when it's got some honey and/or lemon in it) is all of the health benefits that it provides. Herbal tea is proven to boost your immunity, de-stress you, fight off free radicals and viruses, improve your digestive system, fight inflammation and oh so much more.
