Big Sean putting in that work!
You go boyyyyyy!
The Detroit native and Finally Famous rapper has been dropping brand new videos every week like he's trying to be crowned the hardest working rapper in the game!
After dropping the deep visuals for his conscious single, "One Man Can Change The World" to the more light hearted, Jhene Aiko-featured 'I Know,' where the two play a daring pair of 70 year olds falling in love, Sean Don is definitely bringing back the creativity that rap music videos have been lacking for some time now.
And in his new video for the track, 'Play No Games,' it's clear that's exactly what Sean continues not to do on the creative tip! The 27-year-old rapper gets retro and draws inspiration from none other than 90's hit sitcom show, Martin, and and is so on point with the reenactments- that it easily makes the video a strong contender for video of the year!
Asides from the fact that Sean is also from Detroit-which is nice detail considering that's where Lawrence's character 'Martin Payne' hailed from and the show was filmed- the video's graphics are quite accurate too, creating the perfect time capsule of 90's realness! Sean takes on the role of Martin Payne of course, while a Tisha Campbell-Martin lookalike plays Gina.
A silly Chris Brown plays a flawless version of Cole, while a young woman plays the no-games bestie Pam. And we can't forget Tommy - the tall, dark, and handsome 'unemployed' character. Featured rapper Ty Dolla $ign, also makes sure to stop by and make a cameo as well as French Montana in the Martin tribute.
Directed by Mike Carson, the video splices together several memorable scenes from the classic comedy TV show, including the time when Martin hosted a fight party at his home, to the time Martin got all New Jack City after his $400 'CD Walkman' was stolen. Not to mention, Marty-Mar and baby girl "Gina" are true to character while they sneak in a few of their infamous, fun flirty love scenes.
The icing on the cake is that the OG himself makes an appearance. Yup, after Sean gets done kicking 'Bruh Man From Da Fif Flo' out his cribo, Martin kicks Sean and his crew out, too. Y'all know he stayed kicking folks out his crib! Not too worry though, because in real life, Marty-Mar gave the video an A+!
"Saw @BigSean and #ChrisBrown New Video inspired by the Martin Show. I love it."
