It may be Thanksgiving but Ashanti was getting us ready for the Christmas season yesterday as she cruised by Good Day NY to promote her new Lifetime movie "Christmas In The City." The singer-turned-actress rocked a bob hairstyle while she chatted with the hosts about her holiday plans before taking to the stage to sing "Let It Snow."
Although she'll miss the premiere of her movie on December 7 because she'll be performing a huge show in London that night, she says that for Thanksgiving and Christmas her fam gets together -- including the drunk uncles -- and they sit around singing songs and just having a good time. She also dished a little about her album, which has been pushed back numerous times this year, and running her own label:
It's tough. Being the owner of my own record label, Written Entertainment, that transition [and] having that control and just being responsible for so much. It's a lot. Getting records out there, it's very different from when my first album came out. Social [networking] is completely different. So you have to stay very current and you have to keep reinventing and creative and touching the people.

Although Ashanti's album is suffering delays, she's still releasing new tracks from the project. This week, she dropped the Rick Ross-assisted, "I Got It."
