Are 'Old Man Haircuts' The New Way To Discipline Young Boys?

Have a bad son? An Atlanta Barber has a genius way to teach him a lesson

"So you wanna act grown? Well now you look grown, too."

It looks as though "Old Man Cuts" are the new azz whooping and the trend is bruising more egos than backsides. The hairstyle is the latest in disciplinary action that includes parents whisking their bad sons off to the barbershop and placing them in "hot seat" for a haircut a la George Jefferson. The new form of punishment is pretty smart considering that kids these days have more pride now than ever.

So who's to blame for this whole trend? Well, a barber/father of course!

Atlanta barber and owner of A-1 Kutz, Russell “Rusty Fred" Frederick, was sick of his son Rushawn acting a pure fool, so he took his clippers to the 12-year-old's hair to teach him a lesson, while also uploading the photo to instagram.

"So u wana act grown...well now u look grown too [old man emoji] The grown-up kids special. Bring more bad kids to @a1__kutz for this!"

Instead of a clean shape up, Russell gave his boy a receding hairline to match his "grown" and mischievous ways. Yikes! The jacked-up cut worked so well that the ATL barber decided to help other parents discipline their kids by offering the “Grown Man Haircut," three times a week for free!

“There are a few people that are saying it's emotional abuse; but on average, everyone is applauding the mother that brought the child in — and applauding me as well. Parents are at a loss. When you go to discipline kids these days, they can't necessarily use physical punishment they way parents did in the past, but they have to do something. If you don't, and your kid ends up doing something crazy, everyone is going to say the problems started at home."

After Rusty's idea went viral, it became the go-to punishment for fathers and mothers alike. One mom even took it a step further by taking both her sons in for the "Benjamin Button Special" while also making them walk around the neighborhood afterwards. In the video, you can even even hear one man shout:

“That's how you 'sposed to do 'em. Y'all show out together, y'all get a messed up haircut together!"

Well, if the haircut fits…
