3 Ways To Celebrate National Prosecco Day

August 13 is National Prosecco Day, and if you like to break out the bubbly, now is the perfect time to do so. The holiday, which was founded by Riondo Prosecco in 2011, was created to celebrate the popular sparkling wine, and now that you know about it, you can celebrate it too. Here are a few ways to indulge in some wine time this holiday.

Order Up The Bubbly At Your Local Restaurant

Whether it’s brunch or happy hour, prosecco can elevate any occasion. One way to celebrate National Prosecco Day is by going to your local restaurant and ordering a bottle for the table. I recently visited R3 Rosendale Concepts in Atlanta for happy hour, and since my friend and I were in a fancy mood, we ordered a couple of glasses of prosecco as well as food. We enjoyed the delicious homemade chips and arugula pizza and were pleased with how attentive the staff was. If you’re in Atlanta, I would recommend this place, but if you live elsewhere, find a local spot that is also celebrating the holiday.

Find A Prosecco Recipe

Thanks to Issa Rae, we now know about prosecco with a splash of vodka, but there are some other cool recipes to check out as well, like this one on TikTok. The “Quick and Easy” Raspberry Lemonade Champagne Spritz is a great one to try on a perfect summer Sunday.

All you need is raspberries (muddled), a shot of vodka, lemonade (Calypso lemonade is used in the TikTok), champagne or prosecco, and a few sliced lemons.

Sunday Funday

Last but not least, turn National Prosecco Day into an all-day affair. Have your friends over for games like Prosecco Pong, break out the charcuterie boards, and of course, prosecco. Or, if you want to get out of the house, consider sitting pretty by the pool or throwing a pool party. Have a picnic, cookout, or attend a paint and sip class. There are so many ways that you can celebrate the holiday, and if all goes well, why not make it an annual thing?

The ‘Secret Sauce’ Behind Omar & Keisha Epps’ Nearly 30-Year Love Story

Omar Epps might have had his claim to fame in the 90s, starring in Black film classics like Juice, The Wood, Higher Learning, and who could forget Love & Basketball? But these days, the 50-year-old actor has also added writing to his repertoire. Omar recently published his second book, a dystopian novel, Nubia: The Reckoning. When he is not writing or starring in Power Book III: Raising Kanan, something else Omar has a lot of passion and purpose in is his love for his rock, his wife, Keisha Epps.

In a recent conversation with PEOPLE for their “One Last Thing” column, the author made sure to show love to his long-time partner, Keisha Epps, in a question that prompted him to recall the last time he danced. “My wife and I were at an event, and she was looking great, so I had to take her hand and cut a rug,” Omar told the mag.
