These Were Our Favorite Fashion Moments From The 2020 Grammys

A look back on the style moments that ruled the night.

Beauty & Fashion

Here's the thing: There is so much drama surrounding this year's Grammys awards ceremony. But then again, what's new? Last year, the Recording Academy hired Deborah Dugan, the first-ever female CEO and president to clean up the mess of her predecessor who stated that the female artists should "step up" if they truly want equal representation on the nomination list. Deborah's main goal was to make diversity the highest priority because female artists deserve just that. Well, the other shoe dropped about two weeks ago when news broke that Deborah was placed on administrative leave and then she followed up by spilling some hot tea stating there is corruption of the Grammy voting process along with a sexual harassment complaint.

Deborah told the Los Angeles Times:

"The ceremony is about the musicians and the fans. I don't want to taint that. This is about the Recording Academy. The Recording Academy must change. To bring the Grammys down because of a few bad eggs [at the academy] wouldn't be fair to the artists."

All of this is now the scandalous backdrop for the biggest night in music. This leaves us to question who will show up on the red carpet tonight. Then there's the devastating news of Kobe and Gianna Bryant's sudden passing. Tonight will truly be bittersweet. Despite the infamy that has embroiled this huge night, we are tuned in to support our favorite musical artists. Of all of the 86 categories, we are sure black excellence will reign supreme even if it's just in our hearts. From Lizzo's eight nominations to Michelle Obama's nom for best spoken word album for Becoming to Nipsey Hussle's three posthumous nominations.

We can't front though – the stars take the biggest fashion risks on the Grammys red carpet. Ahead, find some of our favorite moments from the red carpet.
